The Blade Protector- An Impact Protection Device
We set out to
make a product that protects the teeth of all electric and manual hair cutting
clipper blades. The purpose of this product was to give clipper
owners a sense of security while traveling with and storing their clippers. While
transporting, clipper owners usually wrap their clippers in either the power
cord itself, or some sort of soft cloth material. The idea was simple; a quality, protective clipper guard. The Blade Protector attaches to the
still blade and protects the cutting blade. The Blade Protector device prevents damage to the teeth of
the blade which could possibly be caused by impact from another object.
Along with the shock
absorbent fins, the blade protector utilizes a magnetic hold, whereas the guard
attaches securely onto the upper portion of the stationary blade.
When storing
clippers in moist areas, the protector assist in repelling moisture from the teeth and most
of the stationary and cutting blade, which helps to prevent rust and other water related
damage(s). This will extend the life
expectancy of each individual blade.

The Impact
The Blade Protector provides
real time protection where an operator can attach the device to a clipper blade
while in use, not in use, in transport and or storage. Clipper operators tend to drop their clippers
very often. The Blade Protector absorbs impact of the clipper blade and the
ground, offering shock absorbent fins with a hard plastic outer shell and soft interior
material that extend outwards from the clipper. This allows the Blade Protector
to serve as an impact protection device if the hair cutting blade has first contact
with the floor or another object.
The greatest impact of the device is that it is universal and the first of its kind. The Blade Protector is currently Patent Pending.
Risks & Challenges
The development of the Blade Protector is nearly complete. Clipper Companies are reinventing hair clippers and blades everyday. We want to remain the forefront in clipper blade protection. Our ultimate goal is to partner with every clipper company and offer a protector for every clipper blade made to date. Once we reach our funding goal we intend on improving the material of the device to offer more protection and also offer the protectors in different colors.
