Hello!

I posted on my Facebook a couple of months ago, that I wanted to host a session for young women who may find it hard to find their place in this world.  I got an immediate response from other women who wanted to volunteer their time and talents to make this thing a go.

So here we go!  On November 9th, we will be hosting a free community session for young women in grades 6 -12, recent high school graduates and young women who are beginning in their college studies.  This 3 hour session will explore such issues as social media etiquette, exploring purpose and passion, and making connections.

Talitha Cumi was thought up by my friend Asharkii when she and I decided we would do something to encourage young women to rise above their circumstances.  Talitha Cumi in Aramaic means little girl arise or rise up little girl.  These were the words spoken by Jesus to a deathly ill girl who is only known as Jairus' daughter.  While this is not a religious organization or event, please know that I and many of the presenters are  Christ-centered. While our lives are guided by Christ-centered principles, it is not our ultimate goal to bring these young ladies to Christ.  They may see something in us that urges them to know more about us and we'll welcome that conversation on an individual basis.

Here's How You Can Make This Session Go Further!

Consider donating at least $5.00 to sponsor one young woman.  Your $5.00 will help to purchase lunch and a keepsake for each registrant.   Of course you're welcomed to give more!  The greater our donation pot, the better the keepsake.

Other Ways You Can Help!

It's ok if you can't contribute this time.  I don't know what else Talitha Cumi has up it's sleeve.  Maybe it's a trip to a museum, or a local art show or maybe even a sightseeing tour out of town.  Trust that funds and/or time given at any point will help a young woman rise above her circumstances, experiences and surroundings!

Now, spread the word and help us grow this pot!
