Since we got together and concocted this beer-inspired project, many friends and family have asked how they can contribute to bringing more beer to downtown Napa, which is why we've decided to create a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo for Tannery Bend Beerworks. As partners, we (Matt Cromwell, Tyler Rodde, and Lauren Duncan) are opening Tannery Bend Beerworks to serve the local Napa community with delicious and intriguing beers born from a unique collaboration between a Brewer and a Chef all presented in a warm and welcoming setting overseen by a master of hospitality.
The brewery and tasting room located at 101 S. Coombs Street in Napa will open in winter of 2016 within a 1,500-square-foot space that has room to fit a maximum of 25 people with 10 bar seats.
Making this dream a reality has taken a lot of hard work. The three of us have been working on this project for several years, investing time and money as we encountered many starts and stops over the years. We have sought out different business models, various scales and multiple locations before finding a home at 101 S. Coombs Street.
It is now that we call on the community to help us cross the finish line. It is your support that will take us from garage brewing to doors open and pints flowing. It's important for us to get the community involved in this initial stage. If you believe like we believe, we will build something great!
Matt Cromwell, Tyler Rodde, and Lauren Duncan
We want the community to help fund the brewery that they want. We've broken down what we need to get it out of the brite (tank) and into the glass.

Of course, we have tons of cool perks that you can check out along the sidebar, but really, the further this campaign goes, the better brewery we are able to build for you to enjoy. We want this brewery to be by the people, for the people - come be our people!

PLEASE SEND US A MESSAGE WITH YOUR SIZE FOR ANY CLOTHING
(We'd love it if everyone can pick up their perks at the brewery so we can properly thank them, but if you're not local and would still like to contribute just get in touch and we'll figure out a way to get you your swag!)
We are strong believers in our community, something that we have tried to recognize at Oenotri over the years. Oenotri is a place to bring family and friends for great food and wine. With Tannery Bend Beerworks, we want to extend that vision by bringing Napa together in a space filled with warmth, comfort and great beer. With your initial help, we will create a craft brewery that Napa and its neighbors can love and stand behind.

As you have probably noticed, it is truly an exciting time to be a beer lover. Up and down the West Coast, smaller brewers are being afforded the chance to create incredible beers, something we wholeheartedly celebrate. We look forward to adding Tannery Bend Beerworks to the conversation.
Our collaboration between brewer and chef allows for an unique perspective on palate and ingredients. Over the years, we have studied and explored the juxtaposition between the culinary and brewing worlds, finding ways to bring them together. Whether it be tweaking traditional recipes or coming up with original concepts, we know that this compelling voice brings something new to craft brewing.

Bending an Ear
The word is already getting out!
On a Bender
Getting up and running is the biggest obstacle - building a brewery is expensive. Everything has a price tag and everything ends up costing more than you think it will. Creating a brewery that people are proud of is even more pricey and that’s why we’re asking for your help.
More money not only means a better product, but more efficient production with less waste. Helping us do this right means we get to make the brewery that much more environmentally responsible, and that’s important to all of us. Furthermore, we believe that a business, especially a brewery, should be an active participant in its community. Beyond being a meeting place for family and friends, we want Tannery Bend to be a source of jobs for Napa and a place where charities and organizations can hold fundraisers. We look forward to giving back to the organizations that look out for Napa. To get there, though, we have to have your support.

Who Is the Tannery Bend Team?
Glad you asked, we are:
Tyler Rodde
Tyler Rodde turned his attention to the culinary arts after earning his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Southern California. A short stint in culinary school and a creperie opening in Hollywood later, he moved back to northern California, where he honed his skills as a chef and operator in several restaurants throughout the Bay Area. In 2010, he returned to his Napa Valley roots to open Oenotri, a southern-Italian restaurant with a daily-changing menu. Driven by a passion for handcrafted food and showcasing the freshest local ingredients, Tyler continues to expand his role in the community by managing a four acre culinary garden which grows most of the produce for Oenotri.
Lauren Duncan
Lauren Duncan grew up in the Bay Area, where she found her passion for hospitality early, working childhood
summers at the register of a family-owned neighborhood yogurt store and
coffee shop. After attending the
University of California, Santa Barbara, she returned to the restaurant
business, working as Director of Public Relations and event coordinator
for the local Harbor Restaurant group, bringing her into contact with
every aspect of the guest experience. Upon returning to the San Francisco Bay Area, Lauren helped to open a
variety of restaurants and bars in San Francisco proper and the East Bay,
furthering honing her skills in developing outstanding service and great
guest experiences. In 2010 she contributed her extensive experience to
the opening of Oenotri where she currently is both General Manager as
well as co-owner with husband Tyler Rodde.
Matt Cromwell
Matt Cromwell was born and raised in Napa, and has worked at Silverado Brewing Company and Napa Smith Brewery within the Napa Valley. He graduated from the brewing program at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and loves experimenting with beers, exploring new interpretations of traditional styles and interesting ways to use the best local products available. Matt's goal has always been to bring the taste of the great beer cultures of Belgium, Germany, and Ireland to downtown and to elevate Napa beer to its rightful place alongside the valley's wine culture.
