Short Summary
Tax Evasion is a comedy about a world where tax evasion is the worst possible crime. A sly and witty tax fraudster must weasel his way out of a life sentence when he gets caught in an undercover IRS sting. Heavily inspired by the work of the late great Leslie Nielsen, this film will be full of cheesy puns and word play. Think The Naked Gun meets Get Smart!
About the Writer & Director
My name is Zach Nall Powell, a student at Full Sail University, and I'm working on my MFA for Film Production. I am so thrilled to bring my story to life! The idea came to me during Scriptwriting class when it was tax season which got me thinking...what if the IRS came after you with a SWAT team if you evaded your taxes? It all snowballed from there! This script is an absolute labor of love, from many months of writing it, making revisions, and pitching it front of a panel with my director’s vision in order to get green-lit.

What We Need & What You Get
We plan to use the funds to feed our cast and crew, purchase props, set dressings, and at the end of this to pay the application fees to all the film festivals we are going to reach out to. As for what you get, we will build the perks as we go and if you pay a certain certain amount before a perk is added, you will not miss out on that perk.

This world needs more light hearted comedy to bring laughter and joy to everyone. We feel, as future filmmakers, if we can put a smile on your face then we have done our jobs. A hearty chuckle with family and friends truly is the best medicine. But this isn’t just any old comedy, it was specifically written to showcase how a film can be super funny without relying on curse words or raunchy themes. It’ll be good clean fun for the whole family! In addition to bringing a hilarious comedy to life, you’ll also be helping Full Sail University students complete our Master’s of Film thesis project.

With all the funds raised to make this short Thesis film, the impact on the students helping out on this project will to get their names out there and show the world what we can create with a limited budget. This impact that the film will have on the festival world will be huge. We will push the film through as many festivals as possible, We want to reach as many people as possible and your contribution will play a big role in that.
Risks & Challenges
Making a great film is a huge and daunting task. It requires discipline, planning, talent, organization, collaboration, foresight, skill and of course a little luck. Challenges include scheduling cast, securing film sets, and of course funding. As we all know, success is never guaranteed but we have the drive to make this the best we can. We need you to be one of the keys to our success.
