Hi!
I'm one of a very small group of dedicated occupational and speech therapists in Trinidad and Tobago. We've decided to run Team Hope to raise much-needed funds to support the Trinidad and Tobago Occupational Therapy Association (TTOTA), as well as the Speech-Language Audiology Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SLAAT).
Team Hope has been successfully run twice before - in 2008/2009, and again in 2010/2011. The video above was created during Team Hope 2010/2011.
Team Hope is about "helping ordinary people do extraordinary things". A group of ordinary people like have embarked upon a seven-month journey with an extraordinary goal in mind - raise funds for two invaluable professions, and participate in the Rainbow Cup Triathlon in Tobago in JUne 2013. Each athlete is paired with an "honoured teammate", in whose honour they will complete the triathlon. These honoured teammates represent the individuals who receive or have received occupational and/or speech therapy in the country.
Each athlete has pledged to raise $4000TT for Team Hope, which will go to the Associations. As one of the occupational therapists, I can tell you that 40% of the funds raised will go towards Education and Development, 30% for Public Awareness Campaign, and the remaining 30% goes towards a Bursary Fund.
Please support me as I continue in my journey towards helping others, promoting health, and becoming fitter!
Please share this campaign as well so that others can recognise the work being done in Trinidad and Tobago, and raise awareness of these professions!
Thank you!!!
