Short Summary
Starting a movement to introduce tech into education, in a world where people are resistant to change, is not a short-term effort. Hi, I'm Joan and we are a bunch of slightly-crazy young professionals and students who will introduce tech entrepreneurship to high school students across the country by sharing our love for business, science, and technology!
Our first project TechClash 2016 is a High School startup innovation competition with talks, workshops, and demos to let students see that this IS the 21st century, and technology is in their hands.

What We Need & What You Get
- $300 to feed 120 HS Students (and 20 organizers) for the event, or they will go hungry.
- $100 for printing expenses and petty logistics (IDs, tarpaulins, pens, paper, and tape).
- $100 for speaker and judges' tokens, and TechClash shirts as give-aways! So that it's not a dull event.
The Impact
The Garage is a community that aims to inspire and enable the Filipino youth to start the next billion-dollar tech startup in the Philippines.
One day we'll have amazing conferences like this that showcase the cutting-edge with Filipinos leading that innovation.
Risks & Challenges
Our greatest challenge is convincing high schools to send students because most of them have no idea what a "startup", "hackathon", or "pitch contest" is. We're in it for the long haul. We will slowly spread the tech & startup culture, building stronger Filipino talent and innovation in the unlikeliest of places.
Other Ways You Can Help
* If you know any HS students you can have them register for our contest!
* College kids can sign up here.
* Freebies to give away would be awesome too!
