WHAT IS TEMPUS?

Tempus is a science fiction short film that is as much about the love the two main characters share as the sci fi element. 

Kenzie, a curious girl has been experimenting with scientific theories of time travel when she is the victim of a life altering crime that takes her soul mate from her. Is life worth living without her soul mate? 

Kenzie has been receiving mysterious messages each morning containing advanced equations to help her finish her time machine. It isn't until she meets the mysterious Z that she realizes that there are other motives behind her help. Z is trying to save Kenzie's soul mate, Sydney. Will Z's help stop Sydney from dying or will it complicate matters beyond Z's comprehension?

Tempus takes what we all love about science fiction and spins it on its heel and adds an element of humanity that will make you fall in love with the characters. You will feel their loss as well as fall in love with each of them.

What We Need & What You Get

In order to make this film we need your help. No one likes to work for free and this story deserves a quality group of people who are skilled at what they do which is why we are asking for your help to fund this film. 

The funds will go towards feeding and paying our amazing cast and crew as well as towards the design and creation of our costumes, locations, permits, insurance and the creation of our props and sets. 

We tried to find a real time machine to rent, but unfortunately they were all out at Wal-mart so we have a few designers who plan to build one, so the more we raise through this campaign the cooler and closer to working it gets!!! Dinosaurs anyone?

As of now our goal will allow us to get from pre-production through production. The post production, the score and the festival submissions will be handled by the few that are in this for the passion - namely the Director and Producers who all have a background on the production side of film making. 

If we exceed our goal the extra will go towards festival submissions, editing, SFX, and original scoring by outside sources allowing us to step back and build the project with the help of others.

Who are we

Director: Timothy Gaer

Timothy Gaer has been directing and producing films since he was in high school, starting with low budget fun projects with friends until he was offered paid work on features and commercials. His feature films have been featured at numerous film festivals throughout the country and have been distributed domestically and internationally. His experience in the film industry and his vision for this project will bring an original and exciting perspective to this story.

Producer: Alexx Spada

Alexx Spada’s long history of production and development spans music, events and film. She brings an experienced and organized flair to every project. Alexx brings a long held love of horror films, the sci-fi genre and a desire to create quality films using great talent both in California and abroad developing a film not only worth watching but worth talking about.

ACTORS:

We have already cast almost the whole film and have found some amazing actresses to bring our characters to life.

Arielle comes from a long background of independent film as can be seen by her IMDb profile, but she is also a huge SCI FI nerd just like the rest of us making her the perfect choice for Kenzie and as part of this crew. Her portrayal of Kenzie as a broken, misunderstood, awkward girl is beyond words.

Catherine's stunning looks are complemented by her enormous acting ability bringing Syd's transformation from a nervous unsure woman, to a confident loving partner to a whole new level that we couldn't even have hoped for. Her excitement for this project and her chemistry with Arielle shine both on and off screen.

THE VOICE: Jinny Story

We have designed some cool swag for those of you who are able to help this project become a reality. One of those things is a hoodie containing the film's logo! This high quality beautiful hoodie will help protect you from the elements and the cold stare of time itself... (maybe).

WHY SHOULD I HELP?

As scifi fans ourselves we know what we want to see and we know that there are many others out there that want to see a story like this. Our characters have become a representation of who we are and of the ideals and ideas that we search for in each other and to see them come to life on the screen will be an amazing experience not only for us but for other SciFi fans out there. 

We need to support each other as independent film makers and movie goers. The more independent media that gets out there the more "Hollywood" will take notice and start to take a chance on new ideas rather than continue with the development of movies that we have already seen.... literally I am OK with a remake as long as it stays true to the original otherwise give it a new name... PLEASE!
