Short Summary
A Shot-On-Video/Slasher fan and a 8 year old horror fanatic are out to make their first feature horror film!
But we need YOUR help:
The basic plot is about a killer in a pumpkin mask slaying off people in a town. No coherent plot BUT we're going to have a lot of fun with this as we have a reasonable budget (about $60 so far for effects inspired by indymogul (prop show on YouTube) for a (hopefully) 15 minute slasher movie. We're going to have a lot of fun with this. We already have some of the gore scenes figured out and in the making, some promotional posters, and someone asked to score our movie! Isn't that amazing?!
What We Need & What You Get
BUT there are some things we need:
While we have gore effects and actors set, we need to raise some money for a little more props. We need roughly $90-110. Why do we need that? Well, Aryssa and I calculated the 8 items we need on Amazon (fake chainsaw, two blood capsules, two buckets of blood and the official pumpkin mask) After we get the amount that we need for those things currently in our Amazon cart, we need some money to print DVDs. We don't have the funds for a artsy fartsy fancy editing system like Sony Vegas and we don't need that much money, but we might get Windows Movie Maker and if that fails we'll find an online free editing system to print DVDs. We also need money for backer. A DVD, promotional photo, used prop, or a printed poster (a $11x17 glossy one to be specific, at the store we go to that'd cost around $6 for each) We also need a projector screen but if we don't raise the funds for that we'll figure that out. Also, if we have any extra funds that can go to a cup of coffee or a meal during filming. Thanks everyone!
The Impact
The impact for our project will be HUGE. Aryssa is writing the script (if the dialogue is a little stale or bland, blame her.) but I (SOV Buff) have been VERY inspired by some of my favorite horror movies. Blood Lake (our biggest inspiration), Black Devil Doll from Hell, Tales from the Quadead Zone, Slaughter Tales and slashers from Halloween to Friday The 13th. Even if our movie isn't high quality and we miss things during the final cut, we want to deliver a over the top silly, gruesome, bloody and fun slasher as possible. Fun and effort goes into this project.
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just canât contribute, but that doesnât mean they canât help:
- Ask folks to get the word out and make some noise about your campaign.
- Remind them to use the Indiegogo share tools!
- Promote on IMDB! Go onto an IMDB board (preferably horror) and share about the campaign I suggest a board for a recently released horror film. Curse of Chucky, You're Next, etc.
- Post on your horror blog/forum! That DOES really help!
- As said in the first reason, you can just tell people about it!
