How often do you wish you could make a positive impact around the world for generations to come???

The Uganda Youth Empowerment Project is your perfect opportunity!

Hey, Gaius Charles here!  As an actor work and life keeps me very busy...

But in the summer of 2011 I had my first opportunity to travel to Uganda to work with an international community development organization called Communities of Shalom.

During this time my eyes were opened to the many social, political and economic challenges Ugandans face everyday, especially Uganda's youth. This includes the lack of access to education, employment, healthcare and mentorship opportunities.

In an effort to overcome these challenges and inspire hope I began the Uganda Youth Empowerment Project in collaboration with local Ugandan leaders and World Hope Corps upon my return to the United States.

Who We Are & What We Do

This is an exciting and dynamic grass roots community development project focused on developing and empowering local youth in Uganda through athletic programing, AIDS and HIV education, motivational seminars and spiritual development.

Since 2011 the Uganda Youth Empowerment Project has provided hundred of young people in Uganda, hope and encouragement and the insight needed to rise above various challenges to make the most of their opportunities and God given potential.

Some of our previous events include:

  • July 2011: Regional Soccer Tournament and AIDS and HIV Educational  Awareness Seminars
  • January 2012: Regional Youth Conference and Empowerment Workshops
  • August 2013: Regional Youth Conference and Empowerment Workshops

Our 2014 Programing

This year the Uganda Youth Empowerment Project will continue as planned with  soccer tournaments this Spring, AIDS and HIV educational workshops, and personal and spiritual development seminars.

What We Need & What You Get

7K is needed to fund this effort. While this might seem like a modest financial goal, its a reachable one!

The funds raised will cover local transportation costs, equipment rental (PA and sounds system, etc.), food, other local expenses and minor administrative costs (fund transfer and wiring fees, 4-9% indiegogo commission on funds raised, etc.)

Your partnership and contributions will go a long way in helping Uganda's youth. Every donation helps and we are greatly appreciative of your support. And don't forget (for eligible U.S. contributors) your donation is tax deductible thanks to our partnership with World Hope Corps!

Also don't forget to check out some of our exciting perks for donating!

Other Ways You Can Help

We know some people just can’t contribute financially, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help! You can:
  • Ask others to donate like a family member, friend or organization (remind them that donations are tax deductible for eligible U.S. contributors).
  • Spread the word about this campaign both in person and especially on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Copy and share the link to this page or use the indiegogo share tools under our campaign video.

  • Pray for Uganda and Uganda's youth.

Thank you so much for your interest in this campaign!

Lets get to work, reach our goal and the change the lives of some extraordinary youths!
