The 3rd Annual Bryn Mawr A Cappella Festival
Short Summary
The Extreme Keys came together in 1981 to sing and have a good time (not necessarily in that order). Verging on three amazing decades together, the Extreme Keys proudly hold the title of the oldest female a cappella group in the Haverford/Bryn Mawr consortium!
Noted for our electric energy and killer concerts, we perform a range of music from 70's disco to 21st century indie-pop.
We love performing on the beautiful Bryn Mawr campus and frequently host a cappella groups from other colleges. We also enjoy venturing off campus to spread some Keys loving! In the 2013-2014 academic year we had a great time learning music, hosting concerts on campus, and going on a 4 day tour up to Canada! In Spring 2015 we ventured down to Virginia, stopping along the way to perform with other college a cappella groups and to host workshops with local high school choir students. This year we are looking forward to our next spring tour, but we need your help to get there!
On October 1st, we are hosting the 3rd Annual Bryn Mawr Cappella Festival: A Key to Change. The festival is bringing together collegiate and high school a cappella groups from the ti-state area and beyond for a fantastic night of vocal music!
The Impact
While we will use a portion of the proceeds for our Spring 2017 tour, the festival is most importantly a partnership between us and and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). Their mission is to help those affected by MS to live the best possible life as they stop MS in its tracks and help those affected, and to restore what has been lost by hopefully ending MS forever. NMSS is involved in MS research, provides support for those affected, and holds events nation-wide for advocacy and fundraising purposes. For more information, please visit the National MS Society website (http://www.nationalmssociety.org). A large portion of the festival’s proceeds will go towards supporting their efforts to find a way to help end MS.
