The Amytal Therapy is a unique thriller story which raises awareness and helps to stop children sexual abusing and kidnapping all around the world. Lauren Lancaster is a therapist who is spying on her patients through surveillance cameras to try to find the person who murdered her partner. During her private investigation Lauren discovers and falls into her crazy patients' dark sides they are not just killers, they are sexual abusers, they kidnap children, rape them and kill them. She is willing to use all her power to make her own justice and get to the truth. Jail is not the appropriate place for them.
The Amytal Therapy is a short film directed by V. Caniglia, AIC an award winning cinematographer who established herself in the film Industry for more then a decade and strongly believed in supporting the cause through the story led by a woman and developed from the feature film screenplay written by Filippo M.Prandi. Amine Mihoubi, Algerian producer decided to join the team to give the production an international taste where an Italian writer and an Italian-American director and DP, along with an American cast and crew and Algerian-American production collaborates together to give birth to this project in USA. EVERY SUCCESS HAS A BEGINNING AND WE BELIEVE THIS ONE IS OURS.
We already filmed part of the short film and our goal is to finally finish it. Our team needs your help to complete what we deeply believe will be the most powerful story ever made yet. We want to make a strong impact with this unique film to open the mind of everyone who with a small gesture can contribute to help to stop children sexual abusing all around the world. We also want to be able to reach many people in the globe and spread the word : STOP KIDNAPPING OUR CHILDREN.
It is very hard to be open about this subject and make it into a realistic movie that clearly expresses the gravity of the situation. We will do everything possible to achieve our goal and to overcome to all obstacles while making sure that the message comes along with a solution. Therefore, our plan is to keep filming it with a sensitive eye using the camera as if it is Lauren's eye where the variation of wide shots and extreme close ups with diopters or tilt and shift lenses, will give to the audience the feeling that they are there with her while breathing with her and spying through her. The people will never feel the camera in between the story and them. Out mission is to show this film and have screenings everywhere.
