The Trip:
In April, I will be working with The Archibald Project (TAP) and Sole Hope along with other artists to serve the beautiful people of Uganda.
The Archibald Project is an orphan care media organization, and tells stories that promote adoption, foster care, volunteer opportunities, sponsorship and resettlement. Resettlement means that not only do they promote adoption of eligible orphans, but they promote supporting birth parents and help them to get their child out of an orphanage and back to where they belong: with their family. Through their stories, fewer children will be called orphans.
Sole Hope works towards preventing diseases that enter through the feet in impoverished communities through foot treatment clinics, education, and teaching the trade of shoe making. Many of the people they treat are orphans and the elderly.
I have the privilege of going to Jinja, Uganda to serve with Sole Hope and to use my love of photography to share their mission with the world through The Archibald Project. You can learn more about our April Media Mission here.
How you can help:
Firstly, you can help by praying for me and the others on my trip. We will all be out of our comfort zones and we ask for you to pray for wisdom, strength, and compassion so that we may serve the people we meet to the best of our ability.
You can also serve along with me by helping me raise the funds to get to Uganda. Here is what the money you donate will go toward:
• Transportation. A large chunk of the cost of the trip is the flight. But once we're in Uganda, gas and drivers are very expensive as they're not as prevalent as they are in the US.
• Housing and Food. Most of the trip will be spent staying in the Sole Hope guesthouse and we want to make sure to give them the funds they need to operate and cover the cost of feeding us.
• Lastly, a portion of the funds will go to support The Archibald Project in everything they do such as provide a tiny salary for the full time staff (they have to live too) and the orphanages with every day expenses.
