Overview
Our zeitgeist was recently invaded with various memes of perception. The photo of the dress: is it gold or blue? An audio file: sounds like Yanni or Laurel? All our responses differed much like they do when we discuss politics, religion, or art. Our story will therefore ask; does society allow us to form individual responses or must we all agree on one literal representation? Our film will take place in a museum, but the plot's argument may represent anything that polarizes opinions. Or does it?

A few years back I was walking down a museum gallery when I stopped to admire a large canvas. The art in question were three large canvasses side-by-side painted purely white. It was one of those pieces that engulf you in thought: What does it mean? Why did the artist paint it? Where would... [needle scratch.] My zen moment was broken by a group of young men who found the art ridiculous. These art connoisseurs exchanged expletives, mocked those admiring it, and snapped smart phones pics that surely will be posted accented by feces emojis. After the aforementioned troglodytes left, I of course thought of the perfect retort: do you know what this artwork means?

Since I missed my chance to exercise my pseudo-intellectual knowledge of art, I took the introverted artist's equivalency of vengeance: I wrote a short screenplay. I created a similar situation amped by much dramatic flare and poetic license. After a few drafts I ran it by a few confidants before bringing it to two actor friends who fit the roles: Tatiana Ronderos and Mateo Gómez. Since they also enjoyed the script (whew...) we began workshopping it.

That's where we are at the moment. We are happy with the story and its message. We want to shoot this film as soon as possible. We need to make it as sleek as the art world we want to represent. To achieve this we need the perfect location, the best lighting, and the smoothest camera work. The money we raise will go towards everything we need to create a film with the production value that will get us to festival screens. Our budget includes rental of a gallery space for the shoot, cost of production insurance, rental of equipment we can't borrow, payment of key crew members we'll need to hire, and various meals for everyone on set. Also included are post-production needs and festival fees.

On behalf of the cast and crew thank you in advance for any help you may provide and please: continue supporting creativity.
