A debut ACTRA Tier 4 short film written by Bethany Parkhouse, Directed by Dylan Duff, and Produced by FM Productions. Our team is looking to raise $10,000 towards the production costs of our short film titled The Art of Knowing You.
Our team has been working collaboratively since November, with the goal of shooting this project in the summer of 2025. We are very proud of the current team, and everyone's dedication towards this project, and will soon be expanding our team as we get to the next development stages. We thank everyone for your support in helping us achieve the estimated funds needed to produce a high-quality result for this project.
The Art of Knowing You has the potential for growth beyond this short film, as it was adapted from a feature film. This short film focuses on the dynamic between the two main characters to give the feel of the characters, as well as portray the tone of the film. We have plans to use this short to pitch the feature-length film to studios in the hopes of producing the feature in the future.

Hal is the all-star soccer player on his College soccer team, as well as one of the top students in his psychology program. Hal takes a lot of caution when it comes to his future and strives to be the best at everything he does.
One day while walking home from his school's soccer field, Hal comes across a mysterious tent set up in the woods. Hal examines the tent more closely and meets Annabelle, a free-spirited artist, with an entirely different perspective on life.
The Art of Knowing You is a coming-of-age story centered around the value of connection with others, and developing into yourself.

Our $10,000 goal is critical in being able to bring this film to life.
This budget will allow us to fund essential parts of production including:
- Paying Cast and Crew
- Artistic Design Elements
- Film Equipment
- Studio Rentals
- Craft Services
- Post Editing
If we don't hit our goal, significant changes will need to be made to our production plan. Paying our cast and crew for their time and work on this project is essential to our team, so if we are unable to hit our goal, cuts would most likely be made from the design elements and location budget. The design elements that we budgeted for are essential to the story, as one of our characters is an artist and we want to bring her world to life as best as we can.
