As part of my final year project at Jewel and Esk College, I am Producing a short 15-20 minute short film that I hope to enter into this years's festivals with my fellow classmates.
The film is short coming of age story about a young man coming to terms with his sexuality after being 'outed'. The story deals with complex issues about homosexuality, acceptance, tolerance, peer pressure and friendship. The film chronicles the journey undertaken by the three main characters as they deal with the pressures of growing up, especially when life throws them a curveball.
If we manage to get this film made, we definitly plan to have it shared with the LGBT community to highlight issues of acceptance within friendships and the social structure. If this campaign does not succeed- Iam willing to try and try again because this is an issue close to my heart and close to the people that I know and love.
We need to raise upwards of £1,000 or more to cover the costs and expenses of hiring a professional cameraman/sound and DoP ,Food and travel costs for the actors who live in a different city from the set locations. Promotional posters/fliers to distribute to the college campus.
If you help, theer will be perks ofcourse in return for your monetary support. Depending on how much yo contribute- Original script copies, Actor photos/set photos, autographed DVD's when the film is done and made, Posters and set pieces will be available... as well as Producer credits if you donate £100 or more.
I would be absolutley grateful for any support you give this film. If you could 'share' and 'like' the facebook page to spread the word would be amazing!
