Short Summary
Hi! We are Artist Organized Art, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) committed to supporting artist organized media, events and cultural education. We have over 150,000 all time email subscribers and over 5,000 members of our currently decomissioned wiki. Our online community of artists and arts professionals is global, with 44% in North America, 33% in Europe, 23% in Asia and beyond.
We are excited about art, data and collaboration. In 2008 we launched a very crude wiki which allowed our community to sign up and collaborate on pages, upload works, promote projects and cross link to social networks while informing an authoritative following of artist organizers. Our wiki attracted over 5000 editors and was a great resource for raw expressions from all over the world. A wiki is special, because it looks technical and allows for collaboration. Art looks especially anarchic in the wiki container, which also features taxonomy and geo tagging. We want to run the wiki as one big book of art made together!
Because of a growing user base, we've had to upgrade our server. Our current wiki can't migrate. We need to raise a production budget to customize and launch a new wiki script, then open it up to all of you for accounts. We also need to carefully migrate data from the old wiki to the new wiki. It's many days of work, that's why we need to raise a small budget to push this project through.
Please help us with your donation and support our wiki community today. It's a resource you can positively impact that gives you the power to make an impact.

The Impact
As editors, artists and arts professionals will find a lot to like in the art-wiki. Editors can create substantial entries that rival the scope of wikipedia, but without the fear of deletion. That means almost anything can be included and collaborated. There are social tools, media tools and geographic tools, to name a few. Everyone will benefit from the collective expression and will be welcomed to add to it. An open art-wiki is a very cool thing to support in today's world.
We have a proven track record. Since 2008 Artist Organized Art has successfully launched a newswire grown to over 150,000 targeted email recipients. We've also been the strategic partner to a nationally syndicated TV show of experimental art with 16 episodes, 28 minutes each (http://switch.artistorganizedart.org ). Having launched a feature articles archive with hundreds of entries, our correspondents have covered major art fairs, gone to the White House, The Venice Biennale, The Cannes Film Festival and many other venues. We also acquired New Observations Magazine with 128 back issues and launched the publication back into print (http://newobs.org ). This all happened while we successfully launched an art-wiki and ran it for over 5,000 editors from cities all over the world. We can handle this re-launch technically, if we can raise the funds.
We have given over $30,000.00 in artist grants since 2012 and have raised over $15,000.00 in crowd funding contributions for partner projects. Your support will go directly into the culture that surrounds you.
Anecdotal response to how Artist Organized Art gets artists out of the studio and into the streets. It's in the audio..
