Early Music Underground is changing the way we experience Baroque music in Seattle through its fun, informal, and accessible programs in collaboration with Naked City Brewery and Taphouse and our Tasting Notes series, blending great wine, craft brews, and spirits with great Baroque music.
Now we're thinking big, and thinking Bach. We want to bring monthly performances of Bach's great sacred cantatas to Seattle - bringing together some of the country's most talented and inspired musicians to offer this great music in great sacred spaces - as well as offering our audiences a welcoming social context in which to learn about the music, its history, and its relevance to our lives today. We are not just making music: we are building community.
Our debut concert, featuring acclaimed Boston-based countertenor Reginald L. Mobley (www.reginaldmobley.com) and the Early Music Underground Chamber Orchestra, is taking place on Friday, February 27 at 7:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lynnwood, WA. The program includes Bach's cantata BWV 54 Widerstehe doch die Sünde and works by Johann Christoph Bach and Johann Bernhard Bach.
We need your help to make this possible. Your tax-deductible contribution will allow us to pay for this program and our upcoming May concert as well as to build the groundwork for our monthly cantata series this October. Please join us. Seattle deserves more Bach.
