Summary.
We're tired of being asked to sit back, watch the lights dim, and see a story play out in front of us. We know you are too. We want to create an experience for you.
Theatre is an evolving, breathing, surprising and wholly unique form, and it's the perfect medium to explore the shadowy world of Elizabeth Bathory. Whether it's from historical documents or folklore -- everything we find about this woman only adds further nuance and shadow to her story. We need your perspective now.
-
In short, without your help, we cannot make this show happen.
What We Need.
While we have ambitious aims for this show, we first want to ensure we can achieve the basics. For the first phase of our fundraising campaign, our goal is: $4000
$4000 covers:
- Space use for our development workshop this November
- Space use for rehearsals as well as performances
- Budgets for Lighting and Sound
- Partial budget for Costumes, Props and Set
- Publicity costs
- Designer stipends
First and foremost: since this is a site-specific piece, our first priority is securing the site itself. The majority of our budget is dedicated to rehearsing as well as performing in the venue we think perfectly suites this story.
All funds following will be allocated to ensuring our designers have the budgets they need, compensating them for their time and work, and then investing in publicity for a show that requires an audience to function.
The Impact
Chicago has an incredibly diverse and ever-growing theatrical landscape, and we have something new to contribute. Your contributions make a compelling and thrilling type of theatre come to life in a community of people who want to take action, who want to participate in their art.
- You have the chance to make a wholly unique experience realized for every person who comes to the show (hopefully, including you!).
- If you are unable to see the show for yourself, your contribution still invests in a rapidly developing type of theatre -- the immersive experience. We want to both create and participate in these theatrical experiences in Chicago for years to come, and your investment heralds that it can happen.
- We want to connect with people. We want to move every person who comes on this journey with us. That's what this is really about.
