Who We Are (SixFiveOne Productions)
SixFiveOne Productions is a start-up film production company located in, well, the 651 area code, otherwise known as the North East suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
SixFiveOne Productions is comprised of the two founders, John TerEick and Jack Caughey. Jack and John have been producing movies for years under the name "Marvelous Movies", but they have decided to start fresh again and refocus their vision and productions.
SixFiveOne Productions focuses on creating high quality, entertaining, and meaningful films to our audience.
Our first production, What Lies In Difference, was released in June 2011 to an audience of 250 at the premiere. DVD copies have been selling ever since the premiere and after being featured on the local news broadcast. More information about the film can be found here.
The Bright Side (Our Next Project!)
Pre-production of our next film (The Bright Side) is in progress!
John TerEick and Jack Caughey came up with the idea and started putting ideas to paper in October 2010. Joe Summers and Rachel Stoks were soon asked to join the production team in helping complete a screenplay. The screenplay is being finished as this campaign is started!
The Bright Side is the story of a man in his twenties trying to survive life. His early life has been filled with suffering and just plain bad luck. Joshua, the main character, had a painful childhood when his mother died at a young age and his father went to work full time to support the family. Things had started looking up when Joshua proposed to his girlfriend, but quickly fell apart when he found out she was cheating on him. A robbery/break-in sends Joshua over the edge; he needs an escape from his life. He decides to leave his studio apartment in the Twin Cities, MN for the family cabin up North, a place he remembers to be consistently blissful. While at the cabin, Joshua takes up his old hobby of photography and continues making music. He runs into the girl living on the other end of the lake and things begin to look up for Joshua. The Bright Side tells the emotional tale of a man who has been stripped of all hope and his unorthodox approach to find the will to live. Set in heavily forested Northern Minnesota, the film demonstrates humankind's most raw story of nature, love and the search to accept our greatest challenges.
Production will take place from January to August 2012, with filming in Minneapolis, MN and at a cabin in Crosby, MN. The film will have an original score by local musicians. The film is set to premiere in Fall 2012.
The Impact of The Film and Your Contribution
Our last film, What Lies in Difference, inspired audiences around the Twin Cities with it's uplifting and positive message that offered hope towards people in tough situations. We hope to achieve the same type of response from audiences with The Bright Side. In order to do so we need your support! If we can't raise funds for this project, our story will not reach audiences! Your contribution will ensure that a quality film is seen by many!
What We Need & What You Get
IndieGoGo is our primary funding source for The Bright Side; AKA, we need your support!
Our cast and crew are all volunteers and many actually contribute money towards the film!
We are in need of funds for a variety of reasons for this project:
1. Transportation.
With most of the filming taking place 120 miles from home, transportation and gas will get expensive. We will need several long weekends of shooting in Crosby, MN and need to get the cast and crew to the location!
2. Sound Equipment
We have plenty of HD video sources from past endevours, but we have been lacking in the sound department. The donation you provide will ensure that our sound quality is crystal clear by allowing us to purchase new microphones.
3. Post Production
We also need funds to get DVDs, CDs, shirts, and posters made for distribution. The donations may also help us book an excellent premiere event.
You can receive a variety of rewards by helping support us, including: your name in the credits of the film, tickets to the premiere, a DVD of the finished project (including bonus features!), a signed poster, a private screening, or a combination of all of the above! These rewards will be sent out when the project is completed (expected Fall 2012).
SPREAD THE WORD!
Even more important than your individual contribution is the power of your word!
Help us raise funds and get others interested in our project by telling your friends, family, roommates, classmates, mother-in-law, strangers on the street; you get the idea: EVERYONE.
Make sure to share our project on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and in person!
