Short Summary
Thanks for checking us out! My name is Britt Zelinski, the Writer and Director of the new short film The Captain, my final for the Visual Art and Design program at The Vancouver Film School.
The Captain loves being a superhero, but when his arch nemesis reveals the hero's identity to the world, The Captain changes his costume and name several times in an effort to maintain his alter ego. His journey through struggling with identity is very entertaining and proves to be an interesting story to share.
Our crew has worked very hard through school to learn everything we can about all aspects of filmmaking to create this, having already made several successful shorts.
I'm extremely passionate about filmmaking and find great inspiration in ideas revolving around the fantastical and the unreal. Superheroes in particular have always fascinated me and I jumped at the opportunity to make my own story about one.
We aren't given budgets for our films, but they will be screened at our graduation ceremonies in October, so we'd love to make this look as professional as we can. When the film is complete, it will serve as a great portfolio piece for everyone involved and a huge stepping stone into our careers as filmmakers.
What We Need & What You Get
We're looking to raise about $2000 to cover the rest of production costs, including equipment rentals, costume design, and catering, as the cast and crew is donating their time to work on this production.
Those who help us achieve our goal will be given screen credit for their contributions, and folks who donate higher amounts will be given a signed photograph of the entire cast and crew. Of course, everyone will be given a copy of the film upon request.
The Impact
Our cast and crew are all very talented young individuals with so much to offer the industry if given the chance, and by helping us create this short, your really helping us achieve our dreams. My goal as an aspiring Director is to inspire minds the way mine was inspired by other great filmmakers works.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please email me at TheCaptainFilm@Live.com if you'd like to contribute without a credit card. Also, funding isn't the only way you can help us make a great project! Even spreading the word about our film and campaign is more help than we could ever ask for.
