We are reaching out to the fans of stand-up comedy to raise the funds
for the sound mix and purchase of archival footage necessary to
complete the documentary. If you laugh at the trailer (see below) and
want to be among the first to see this film, then throw in a couple of
bucks. We need your
help to premiere this important film about the truly American art form
of stand-up comedy.

When a fire destroys Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco,
defiant owner Tom Sawyer and his crew of comedians rebuild it, hoping to revive
the struggling indie comedy scene. As a
breeding ground for young comedians, Cobb's could not be equaled. Jim Carrey,
Dana Carvey, Paula Poundstone, Bob Saget, Ellen DeGeneres, Bob Goldthwait, Bill Maher, Kevin Pollak, Kevin Nealon, George Wallace, Arj Barker,W. Kamau Bell and many more developed at this small club. With newly uncovered archival footage of
the comics and unlimited access to the club, we document the roller coaster ride to re-open the legendary independent
venue and keep it open against all odds.

The film is completely shot and edited. It really is!
Now we are at the end of post-production and there are certain steps that must be taken to finish the film.

SOUNDMIX: Our talented sound designer, Christopher D. Barnett at Skywalker Sound, will take the rough tracks of sound and music from our cut and polish and level them so that each syllable sings and you can always hear the joke over the laughter!
ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE: Since part of the narrative in our film is historical, we turned to news outlets and video archives to find footage of the comics at Cobb's Comedy Club back in the 1980s and 90s. That means we need to pay the TV station or video archive for the permission to use it in our documentary.
We've got very cool perks to thank you for any contribution you can make. If you love stand-up comedy, our perks are perfect for you. Not to mention the bragging rights to tell your friends that you made this film possible.

Finishing this film and getting it out there has been a dream of ours for several years. It has been a passion project from day one and we were able to get this far with very little money. When we started we had no idea how many twists and turns there would be in the story of Cobb's Comedy Club or how life-changing and inspiring it would be to work on this documentary. This club helped launch some of the most talented comics of a generation, yet not many people know about it. We feel the club deserves its place in the history of stand-up comedy. We know that after you see the film you will agree!
