About The Project: The Death of Us
Get ready for a journey that blends blood-filled, visceral imagery with complex emotional themes. This psychological horror-thriller tussles with the raw realities of grief and loss.
The Death of Us tells the story of a famous author and his wife, forced into seclusion at a quiet house in the country after the devestating loss of their child. Their solitude quickly unravels as they face their own trauma, a dark entity hell-bent on tormenting them and, a sinister plot that threatens to tear the very fabric of thier foundations apart and consume them completely.
As they navigate this terrifying ordeal, they're also forced to confront their own despair and loss—the suffocating feeling of guilt, powerlessness and a past that's eager plunge them back into adversity.
How can these people start to heal when everything around them is falling to pieces and lives are once again hanging in the balance?
This story is inspired by films such as Hereditery, Smile, Don't Look Now, The invisible Man and Nighthouse. It explores how grief and trauma changes the people affected and, can shake the foundation of even the strongest relationships. We want to examine what happens when love is tested by unimaginable sorrow: How do you start to heal when everything feels broken, and you’re left asking, “Why us?” Life can be painfully unfair - The Death of Us grapples with that truth, diving into the emotional complexities surrounding grief.
Utilising unexpected twists, high quality practical effects and deep moments of unsettling horror, we will portray the struggle of living with your own demons whilst being tormented by something unimaginable.

This campaign is important because it will allow us to go beyond "just making a horror film".
It’s a chance to bring our unique, raw story to life—exploring extreme grief within a healthy couple (a rarity in horror!). We’re committed to showing the visceral realities of life through the lens of horror. After all, life isn’t PG, so why should we be?
With your help on this project, we will create a film that unaplogetically bares all the scars of grief, resonating with anyone who has faced loss. Horror has a unique way of reflecting our deepest fears and vulnerabilities, and we believe it can open up important conversations about grief and healing.
Just as importantly, behind the camera, we’re here to champion neurodivergent talent and uplift women in the industry, creating a truly inclusive set behind the scenes. Your support means we can afford to make this vision a reality, bringing something fresh and bold to the independent U.K horror scene!

That's a lot of Blood and Screaming... Who's going to let us film that!? As independent filmmakers know, securing a location for blood and gore can be a nightmare! We’re excited to share that we’ve locked in our main filming site: a stunning multi million-pound property deep in Ashdown Forest. This unique setting will create an unforgettable backdrop for our chilling story, enhanced by several additional locations in Hampshire and West Sussex.
