Formed in 1986, The DOLS is the oldest organization of women supporting women in education, education technology and education publishing. We pride ourselves in staying “commercial free” and offer support, expertise, experience and a willingness to share that is unmatched in the industry.
Our 500+ strong organization is committed to never charging a membership fee. We strive to remain relevant and responsive to our members which is why we are asking our members and those who support the DOLS to contribute to the needed changes to our web site.
As we keep growing our network, enhancing the web site experience is a key variable in meeting that goal. Based on member feedback, we now understand what changes we need to make to the web site. The DOLS set a goal to raise $10,000 to update our messaging, add requested search capabilities, easier job board management, and additional functions on the web site. If we don't reach our goal of $10,000, all of donations go back to the original donors which means we don't get anything! So please help us reach it so we can make the DOLS website the site you want it to be.
If you are a female professional working in the area of education and instructional technology, having access to a group of 500+ strong women from all different levels of positions, experience, and expertise, can be enormously helpful and important to ones success. The network itself is supported by a website that needs updating to to continue to be robust, relevant, and meeting the requirements of the membership.
We are an all volunteer entity representing an incredibly generous group of women specific to time and expertise. Our leader, Ellen Bialo, basically asks for help and one of the 500+ members will raise their hand. This particular project involves expertise beyond what we currently have and we need to pay for these services.
We are not a start-up! The DOLS organization has been going strong for more than 30 years and the more women in the work force in this industry , the more the need for a networking organization for them. Contribute to this effort for your mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and girlfriends.
We have an active group of members who regularly attends functions at national conferences and provides us a venue for promoting this campaign. Ellen Bialo has credibility in delivering the message of the campaign as she works tirelessly pro bono on building and maintaining the DOLS network and website.
We will promote the campaign to our current membership and encourage members to reach out to their own networks.
We are an organization that started with the need to network and we hope the campaign will be successful because of the network! Go ahead and jump in and spread the word about DOLS. Use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email, phone calls, text messages, and good ole 'just talking with people' to encourage ladies to not just support but join in and become one of the DOLS! Let’s get this money raised and the DOLS website even more robust, relevant, and revered!
