Hi everyone, I’m Maria Tran, the director, producer, actor, fight choreographer, and editor who shares roles with many of my collaborators & I’m presenting to you the ‘ECHO 8 TRILOGY', a 3-part urban action assassin feature film with a female perspective (that will pass the Bechdel test). It revolves around an assassin named ECHO 8 who infiltrates a house for a mission and finds out some secrets hit close to home.

Echo 8 (2024) - The first of the trilogy that has been completed

We are excited to announce that we are producing a prequel ‘FIVE BY FIVE’ & a sequel ‘ECHO 8 BEYOND.’

'FIVE BY FIVE' is about the antagonist’s descent into chaos within Zodiac's ranks. The tone is serious, dark, and gritty in the vein of 'The Hunger Games’ meets 'The Long Kiss Goodnight'.

'ECHO 8 BEYOND' is about Echo 8/Anna living off-grid, protecting her mother from afar until a group of misfits foils her identity. The tone is witty, fast-paced similar to 'Guardians of the Galaxy' meets 'Black Widow.'

The original movie, 'ECHO 8', is currently available to watch on Tubi and Amazon Prime, revolves around an assassin who suffers from amnesia and must choose between her loyalty to Zodiac and the memories of her tragic past that keep flashing through her mind.

One of the three movies has been completed. It was shot in 14 days, during COVID era on a budget of $10,000. It has taken many action film festivals by storm and won numerous awards.

One of the reasons we are making the prequel/sequel is that there is a demand in the US and Southeast Asia for low-budget, high-octane films. This film has inspired non-filmmakers and communities. 

So, we have two completed scripts. Shout out to screenwriter/ producer/ sister Elizabeth H. Vu, who wrote two scripts in a month. We’ve had two international script readings with very talented actors across Australia, the US, Japan, and Vietnam. Elizabeth is doing rewrites and refining the story as we go.

Our initial goal is to raise USD $10,000, not for one, but for TWO awesome movies! We're starting with a low goal because we want to get funded fast and make these movies trend like crazy!

Our wildly ambitious goal is to raise USD $100,000 for both films, and this campaign is the first step in our production journey!
