Our names are Kristin and Nicole. We come to you on behalf of our amazing friend, Georgina, who lost her sister, Penelope, on May 9th to unthinkable violence. Penelope was killed. And in her death her three beautiful girls, all under the age of 8, are left without a mother and with a father on the run. (http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/Man-wanted-for-questioning-of-womans-death-in-McFarland-206943101.html)
We want to help Georgina's family as they try to rebuild. We hope, with this campaign, to do a small part in helping them help three little angels try to resume a normal life. That's not going to be easy but, with your help, we're hoping to show these girls there is more good in the world than bad. There is reason to hope. There are reasons to keep loving and giving. Love is bigger than violence, even the violence that takes away your mother. Can you help us?
What We Need
We're asking for $20,000 to help buy a used van to transport the girls and help with the costs of the funeral. But to be honest with you, we'll take all we can get. $20K barely scratches the surface of the cost of raising three children.
As it stands, Georgina's parents are taking custody of the girls and moving closer to Geo's family so they can all work as one to raise them. With Geo's little girl, that makes four bright little rays that will all be raised together.
In order to make this work, transportation is needed to get everyone from one place to the next. These loving parents who have lost their daughter are looking to their own resources (some of those planned for retirement) to take care of their granddaughters. They could certainly use some help.
Funerals are expensive (http://funeral-tips.com/funeral-costs-how-much-...). No one plans on a funeral at 31. (SEE UPDATE)
Over the next 15 years these girls are going to need food, clothes, shoes, school supplies, bikes, prom dresses and money for college. Anything above and beyond this $20K will go towards helping this family give them the life they deserve.
The Impact
By giving whatever you can, you're helping to lay a beautiful woman to rest and also helping with the simplest need of transporting her babies to school, to parks, to activities that will hopefully give them a life with some normalcy.
You'll also be doing a kind and loving thing. Violence has been forced upon this family. Let's fight that violence with love.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you cannot give, there is no guilt, no shame, but please pass this along. Share it so that those that can give will know about this terrible tragedy and the victims it left behind.
Thank you. Sincerely. Thank you.
