Short Summary
I am a contributor to The Times newspaper of London. I am hoping to raise £5,000.00 to fund an 'arthouse' documentary that will follow the lives of two drug users. It will have no narrator, and will simply be them talking to the audience. Without divulging the idea, as it is incredibly unique, I can assure you that whoever should watch this will go through an emotional rollercoaster -- visually, the film will be striking and will overwhelm your senses. If the lives of these people are not immortalized, their struggle can never be addressed -- this will prompt change. The funding will go toward film equipment, and paying those involved. I will receive no profit, nor my team.
The Impact
Your contribution will aid changing the way we view hard drugs, such as heroin and crack cocaine. It seems as years go by, people look at them romantically, ignoring their devastating effect on our community; the death, the pain, and the misery. Your contribution will bring this to light on a larger scale.
Risks & Challenges
The documentary will be filmed alongside heavy drug users in dangerous areas, seldom frequented by ordinary members of the public.
