Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the effective range of WiFi reception from the Sensor Head to the SmartDevice?
Wide open ranges in testing exceeded 120 feet. But the realistic expected operating range of reception is 80 feet.
2. Do you have to tie into another WiFi network?
No. The Hindsight WiFi Network is "stand-alone" and unique to the unit. It is established on system boot, a process that takes seconds once the sensor head is turned on.
3. What temperature range can the base units operate at?
From -20 deg. C. to 40 deg C. (-4 F. to 104 F.) The key to good adhesion is a clean, dry, smooth surface. Below freezing, the target surface must be cleaned with a dry cloth. Any surface moisture will defeat adhesion with the PU Super-Sticky Pads. Of course, the neodymium magnets hold on any ferrous surface regardless of moisture. We have found that if a warm base unit is placed quickly on a cold surface, PU adhesion is good and dependable.
4. Can the Hindsight System be stolen and used by the thief?
The base units have been shown to exert over 22 lbs of holding strength. The Sensor Head weighs just under 0.5 lbs. That's over 40X its weight in "holding power". Yes, a base unit can be removed by very determined force. But so can your mirrors! The good news here is that when owners configure their Hindsight Unit for the first time, they will be prompted to generate their own unique WPA2 encrypted password. Unless, the thief knows the password, the Hindsight Unit remains non-functional!
5. Is there a warranty on the Hindsight?
Yes. A one-year manufacturers' warranty protection. Free from manufacturing defects.
6. What guarantees does a backer have of the Hindsight's success?
As you can determine when you read about Our Team, this is a mature group of engineers with a solid business background. Success has been a hallmark of each of these individual's long careers. Rest assured that everything has been well thought out and planned for. Even contingencies.
