The Invisible Son is a psychological thriller directed by Michael Langenberger. This dark film shares thematic elements with great movies such as Donnie Darko, Taxi Driver and Gone Girl. It tackles isolation, introversion and family tension with a David Fincher/Sam Mendes directorial style.
The Invisible Son follows a young isolated college student, Travis, home for winter break, trying to withstand his annoying family. When he is visited by a demon, everything changes. The demon reveals to Travis that the Sun is going to die on Christmas Day and the only way for him to live on in the afterlife is for him to make a sacrifice in blood: his family. With this inevitable apocalyptic future at hand, Travis must make the most difficult decision of his life.
Where does the money go?
For this film we will be hoping to raise $850. But what do we need all of that money for? I'll explain. In order to make this film as realistic as possible, we will need money to go towards things like; production design, props, wardrobe and make-up. This film has a few obstacles to tackle in these departments. It takes place during Christmas time, so we will need to properly dress our locations with Christmas decorations. It also features a menacing-looking demon who will be in full face make-up and costume. These feats, plus the costs of locations, transportation and equipment, all contribute to our projected budget.

Meet the team!
Director - Michael Langenberger is no stranger to dark films. A Junior at Montclair State University, Michael has been a part of over 40 student short films. As such a versatile crew member, he is very knowledgable about every aspect of production. This, along with his extensive familiarity with psychological thrillers, makes him a very promising director for this unique and inventive short film.
Producer - James Barker is an accomplished producer, writer, director and editor. He produced Michael's last film Before Tomorrow, which was completed January 2016. James has produced seven short films over the past year. His work spans from comedy and drama short films to experimental film and documentaries. James has been working with Michael for the past year, developing a simple idea that became The Invisible Son.
Director of Photography - Alex Pallis is Michael Langenberger's go to cinematographer. He can be noted for his cinematography on Michael's previous short film Before Tomorrow. Alex is very experienced in lighting, which will play a crucial role in this film. The Invisible Son's dark nature poses a challenge that he will certainly be able to handle.
