Plot Summary
Richard, (a propogandist, Hunter S. Thompson wannabe) and Shannon (chaotic, animalistic fiend) are two resentful, desperate, young men who feel their struggles are not being seen or heard. Determined to change their fate, both men attempt to rob the neighborhood convenience store. When problems arise during the heist, both men are forced to question their beliefs and friendship.
Our Story
My name is Zak Seidman. I am currently a senior at Stevenson University in the Video/Film department and have worked on several projects in the Maryland area including "Better Living Through Chemistry" and "Londinium". The Irish Knocks is a story I have had in my head for a few years now and I'm thrilled to finally have a chance to put it into fruition. We have an amazing cast and crew comprised of several young workers from the Maryland area, many of whom have worked together before.
In order to make this project happen however, we are going to need some help. Because this is a student project it is being funded completely out of my own pocket. I have worked several hours and days earning the money to make this come together but we are still a bit short. With your help, I know that we will be able to make the best short possible!
Impact
With your help, not only will we be able to get a much bigger production, better props, costumes and effects, but we will be able to get the word out to others. We plan to enter this into as many film festivals as possible to showcase not only ourselves but several up and coming actors and crew members in the Maryland area.
We are also in the works of turning this into a feature length film. With each donation we come closer to making that dream a reality.

FAQs
So you guys want to make movies for a living… You gonna be famous?
Yes, I can’t really give you any proof at the moment though. I strongly recommend you jump on the bandwagon while we are small so you can maintain bragging rights for years to come.
Why does this student film deserve my attention more than others?
I love a good romantic comedy that I can just sit back and relax with my girlfriend, but our film is going to challenge us and force us to use every skill learned from our education. The film has a high level of difficulty, but I know we are the right people to get it shot.
The challenges include taking over an entire convenience store and turning it into our film headquarters. We will be using practical effects and fake blood, while keeping the store clean and keeping its merchandise intact.
I’m not really into violent films, why should I support this project?
The film is geared for a more mature audience and there are going to be possibly disturbing images for some of our audience. The reason you should still support is because even though this may not be your favorite genre of film, it’s more about giving us the opportunity to grow as artists. The majority of the crew are seniors or 1 year removed from college. As filmmakers we are all still learning and growing into our style. Although this is sort of an action drama it will help us all be more comfortable and prepared for when we create a comedy or romance in the future.
This is a low budget film, why can’t you guys just get jobs to pay for it yourself?
We do have jobs… we just don’t make very much. Jimmy (producer/asst. director) runs an entertainment show at SU and is a film equipment lab aide; Zak (director/screenwriter) films sporting events at SU. The entire film crew is made up of full time students or recently graduated alumni. Needless to say, we aren’t the richest of folks.
One of the reasons our budget is so low is because no money will be spent on equipment rentals. Stevenson University has good cameras, equipment, and editing software that ease some of the financial troubles.
You sure are asking for a lot of money to make a movie, how about I just lend you my camcorder that has been in my basement for a few years and save you some hassle.
I appreciate the kind gesture and your eagerness to help out! We will be shooting on a Canon 5D Mark III that will be supplied by our college so it won’t be any hassle at all.
I’m not giving money unless I get some prizes in return. Anything good?
I understand. Places like Chuck E. Cheese’s wouldn’t be as fun if you couldn’t drool over the possibility of winning a plastic plane or giant stuffed animal. Our perks don’t include either of those… I’m sorry, but instead are geared towards our film. Your special prizes are listed on the page… Look for the Irish actors names.
I’m about to contribute 10 of my hard earned dollars to complete strangers. Give me one more reason why I shouldn’t second guess this decision.
If the perks of donating to the film don’t sway you enough, just know that every donation we receive goes directly towards helping at least 15 students accomplish a huge goal. That goal is to produce a film showcased on the big screen, in front of many audiences. This is an exciting film to be apart of. We have people getting dirty from corn syrup blood and we have to create the illusion of gunshots without explosives and without relying on cheesy effects in postproduction.
We are a hard working crew that is going to make sure your money is spent on a film that will entertain you and look professionally done.
