Who Is Scudley Films?
Scudley Films is an independent film production company in Western Australia, passionate about producing unique original works for feature films, short films, documentaries and music videos. At the heart of everything that happens at Scudley Films, is the passion for storytelling.
An Uncommon Filmmaker
At the helm of this company is filmmaker, Peter Renzullo. Unusually, Renzullo is in the uncommon category of 'Blind Cinematographer', as he only has 3% vision - a rare thing to find in this industry, Despite this, with the support of international film production company Blackmagic Designs, Renzullo has developed techniques to achieve accurate framing and focus-pulling on their incredible cameras, helping Scudley Films achieve accolades from around the world, with over 110 international film awards - with the festivals being completely unaware about the vision impairment that the filmmaker behind these works lives with.
What Is THE JEWEL WASP?
With the help of this campaign, The Jewel Wasp will be the next big feature film to be produced by Scudley Films. With the amazing response to their first feature film, ANTICIPATION, earning 19 film awards from around the world, THE JEWEL WASP is a story that takes independent film making to the next level.
THE JEWEL WASP dares to venture into the darkest thoughts and actions that people are capable of, especially in the name of revenge and greed, fueled by the desire to enact karma on those who deserve it the most. But what happens when the awful truth in this world is hidden inside a beautiful lie?
With an incredible cast, many of which are award-winning actors, an amazing script that dares to venture into the darkest places many stories don't normally go, and industry-leading film equipment that covers all production and post-production requirements not normally available to indie film makers, THE JEWEL WASP is primed to stand out and turn many heads towards what we are creating here in this isolated corner of the world.
What We Need To Make This Happen
We need to raise $11,000 to make this happen. For a feature film, this may seem extremely low, but fortunately the largest costs that are normally required for post-production, equipment hire and crew are already covered. So every dollar that is put towards this film will go into the making of the film itself. Here is what this funding will go towards:
- Location Hire
- Cast and Crew costs
- Props and Costumes
- Make Up and Practical FX
That's it. That is all we need to have covered to make this film. As outlined in the promo video above, an example of how far your contribution will go is in the hiring of a specific location. With just a few hundred dollars, we can secure a location that will allow us to film one third of the film, which will be an incredible length your money will take us on this journey to the finish line. And there are perks along the way, of course.
What Happens After THE JEWEL WASP Is Made?
Once THE JEWEL WASP is produced, then the fun begins. There will be cinema screenings in Australia an Internationally, it will be put onto the international festival circuit, and of course will be pitched for distribution onto platforms around the world. Given the track record of Scudley Films, which achieved all of the above with its first feature film ANTICIPATION, THE JEWEL WASP is in a great position to take off around the globe.
Being a psychological drama, which is a very popular genre around the world, the potential for it to reach audiences in many countries across many platforms is very high, particularly as Australian Independent Films attract a lot of attention internationally. That, coupled with the unique position held in the industry by Renzullo as a Blind Cinematographer, it is a film that will attract attention from many avenues once it is released into the world. So if you can help us make that happen, let's create something special with THE JEWEL WASP and let it find its place in Independent cinema history.
