Short Summary
Hey ya'll. My name is Terry Eytcheson and I am a SAG-AFTRA Actor, Writer, & Director from NYC. Originally from the Eastside of Phoenix, The Junction is a True story based on events that happened in my life.
Set in 2005 it is about a young meth dealer who is thrust into the power position after the death of his father. He and his best friend go from small town Kingpins to dealing with the Cartel and everything that comes with it. From making shipments on their dirt bikes, to shootouts with the cops and other, they have to confront and deal with the past of the people who created their future. It's "The Place Beyond the Pines" meets "Breaking Bad" a true tale in the Wild, Wild Southwest.
This project has been my passion since I started acting almost 10 years ago and I knew one day I would be able to tell it. Even with the intense circumstances, it is a love letter to my city, Apache Junction. The Junction. We were able to raise $8,000 and fly out this past February with a 4 man team and a single day of shooting. With that we have received so many questions and support to help create the pilot to be apart of a 8 episode limited series. Now YOU have the opportunity to help us make this a reality.
For what we were able to do with the limited time and money we had, (which you can see the Proof of Concept and Trailer on this page and my Vimeo) I can only imagine what we can do with more time, money, and resources. With this we will be able to pitch to networks which will benefit everyone involved, including YOU the investor/contributor. It is a team effort and everyone in their life has a dream project and this is mine. Help me tell this story.
What We Need & What You Get
To receive the proper equipment, travel, and cast we would need for this Pilot we would need approximately $30,000. We already have an AMAZING crew from NYC and other professionals with over 30 years of filming experience it will help us gather more people and resources.
With each tier of donations from $10-$1,000 the perks will vary from shoutouts to premier tickets, chatting with the cast, access to sneak peek clips of the film, and even Featured Extra roles in the Pilot.
Whatever funds we do not reach will go towards any equipment or travel which are the essential tools we would need.
The Impact
If I have learned anything in this film world it is that people love original, authentic, and most of all True stories. This story, as harsh as some of the scenes and content will be, it is apart of my life and so many others that have dealt with these circumstances, deaths, and broken promises, as they've made their way coming of age. It's a relatable story for not just my city but so many others like mine. And these stories, such as life, don't always have the "happy" ending that you want but always the ending that was destined and how you were shaped because of it. That's what makes this enticing.
Many people love Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and The Place Beyond the Pines because it shows what we will do to provide and help ourselves and our families with what we are given. I know this is something people will gravitate too because it is not your typical shoot em up story but also one with diverse and flawed characters that you will grow to love and hate.
This is also for my father. Before he passed away last April we had discussed this idea and every time he would tell me to make it. He just had a way of knowing things and myself. So this is not just for me, it's for him. He is the reason behind my Production company name and without him none of this would be possible.
Risks & Challenges
To reiterate. I know what we did with our money and time was special. I know what we can do with the proper money and equipment and it will be something that you will want to have been in on the ground floor. Not to be braggadocious but more so from a place that has been screaming at me to tell this story but I had pushed it away for so long in my brain. I know this is an amazing story and you will think so too. That's the art we need to share, those are the stories we need to tell.
Other Ways You Can Help
Honestly, we are so blessed in the social media age to where we can copy, paste, and share at such ease. Even word of mouth and a follow for updates would mean the world. I will have my Instagram handle and even a shoutout on social media does more than you know.
And that's all there is to it.
