The Story
“In 2048, Princeton physicists discovered time travel. Five years later, corporations successfully turned into a profitable business. For a substantial fee, Time Contractors can now take clients through time.”
Catch up on episodes 1 and 2 in the gallery.
With nowhere left to turn, Time Contractor Sam Weston travels to the past to face his demons head on and confront an old acquaintance.
In the timeline we know and love…
In 2015, our rag tag group of Bay Area natives came together to create the short film The Last Client - based on a script by then college student Regina Kim. Inspired by our success, our cast and crew came together again in 2016 to film the second episode, which we were able to complete by raising funds through Indiegogo.
As we wrap up Sam Weston’s story, we’re coming to the Indiegogo community once again. This time, we’re shooting the final two episodes at the same time in order to minimize costs. Just like last time, we can’t do it without your help!
Our accomplishments so far
The Last Client was released online in March 2015. Due to overwhelming audience feedback to the film, The Last Client was picked up as a web series in May 2015, and the original short film was renamed The Last Client: Episode 1. We released The Last Client: Episode 2 in August 2016, after raising almost all of our funding through Indiegogo.
The series was selected as a Top 15 semifinalist for the “Sundance Ignite Short Film Challenge,” received sponsorship from Cinefemme, and was shown at numerous film festivals all over the country.
And now the final two episodes
As we previously mentioned, we’ve tried to minimize cost by combining production for Episodes 3 and 4. Our entire crew is back on board for these episodes plus, we’ve added a makeup artist for a certain character that is essential to finishing up this story.

*Please note we have budgeted a little buffer room*
All your favorite actors are making their return to the Last Client universe. We’re also welcoming back Ross Turner to reprise his role as the bartender, as well as a surprise new character in these final two installments.
Since our story revolved around a certain historical assassination, we knew we needed a great theater partner for our location. We’re happy to have found the Trianon Theatre in San Jose.

What are we going to use your money for?
Because we asked our crew to put in a lot of their money for Episodes 1 and 2, we’re relying on the support of our fellow art and filmmaking communities. We want to make sure our talented cast in compensated well for their hard work, able to bring the short film to life in the best theater location, and have the best hair and makeup team. Once again, our crew has graciously agreed to forgo payment for Episodes 3 and 4, in order to make room in the budget for our top priorities.
We want you to follow along with the project and really dive into the The Last Client universe. Check out the awesome perks you could receive by supporting our project, including swag and behind the scenes access.
Risks and Challenges
Our team is small, but our dreams are big. We’ve definitely faced challenges in the past and we’ve overcome every one of them. Below are some examples of previous challenges:
During the first episode of The Last Client, our bar location dropped out on us a week before filming. Thankfully, our crew was able to reach out to the owners personally and negotiate a deal that worked for both ends.
After finishing production on the second episode, we realized the audio in one of our key scenes was less than desirable. We worked with our cast in order to record the audio again and deliver a polished final product.
