Dear supporters,
My name is Nigel O’ Brien and I am
the Writer / director and co-producer of “The Last Man”.
I graduated from VEC Galway in 2012 with distinction in film production,
camera (operating) and editing and in the last few years have been pursuing my
passion for making film.
In the past three years I have worked
mainly in corporate video, producing music videos for L.A. based band “Friends
of Emmet” and directing short films. I have previously directed two short
films, one of which was screened at the 2014 International Richard Harris festival
and the 1st annual Little Cinema Galway film festival. My passions have also led me to work with
Olaf Tyaransn, of Hotpress Magazine, to film interviews with Irish music legends, such as
Damien Dempsey and Glen Hansard.
You
can view a previous short of mine, “Gun Down”, below:
The inspiration behind this film
project, “The Last Man”, is tied to my lifelong love of Sci-fi Film, book’s and
TV shows. “The Last Man” see’s our hero returning home from a future war into a
world similar to that of the Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits. On his journey
he is confronted with something that will test him to his very soul…
That’s all we can say for now and why we are here asking you for your help to make his journey a reality. We have a very talented cast and crew onboard and are almost ready to commence principle photography. The team has worked extremely hard so far, completing casting, location selection, and crewing our film.
And this is where we need your help!
With your help we plan to make “The Last Man” into the short film this story
deserves.

This shoot will be located in the
West of Ireland, in the wilds of Connemara. During our 3 day shoot we will be
taking in some of the most spectacular sights in Europe. To minimize our cost,
we have sourced our own equipment so your contributions will help to cover
accommodation, transport to locations and feeding our amazing cast and crew for
the shoot.
After
principle photography wraps, we will be looking to promote the film at festivals
in Ireland, the UK and the US. Your contributions can help expand our projects
audience and make sure that our project is seen across the world!
We have the cast and crew all set to make this project happen but it
would be impossible without your help!
By sparing a few euro you can help
make our film happen and if you can’t, don’t worry! You can also support the
project cause by sharing our campaign online and spreading the word amongst your
friends, families and communities.
We are always online and looking to
engage with our supporters and audience so contact us via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Thank you in advance for your support, you are an essential
member of our team!
Nigel.
