About me...
My name is Colson Foster, and I am a student filmmaker at Columbia College Chicago, looking for crowdfunding support for my upcoming short film, The Laundromat Outlaw. This will be my first advanced production set I will be directing.
A film director from Cincinnati, Ohio, I moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue my dreams of attending film school. While I've explored the craft of cinematic storytelling since the age of 10, in the last two years I've has dived further to release multiple short film productions with my own equipment and crew, under the name "Charcoal Cinemas".
Through Columbia College Chicago, I have the pleasure of working with a team of talented student creatives in the film industry to help bring my story to life. This production is for my Directing II class, which is an intense course that throws directors in the field while upholding to industry standards.
Fundraising "TLO"...
Such industry standards bring me to my fundraising campaign. I am looking to raise $1100 for the cost of production ofThe Laundromat Outlaw. Here is the breakdown of where that money goes:

With the story's setting taking place in a real, working laundromat in the city of Chicago, the cost of closing the business' operation as well as general filming fees takes up a majority of the film's expenses.
Craft and catering is the phrase used for feeding the cast and crew--a vital ingredient to running a 10 hour production day with 20 talented people.
Post-production covers the buffer for taxes, as well as the film festival submission process. Film festivals are an important step in my film's distribution. Each submission can range from free-$100.
A truck is required to bring the camera and lighting team's equipment to the set, which is rented out by us, students.
The art department is everything you see on screen between the costumes to decorations. As a stylized neo-western, these funds will go towards the Cowboy's outfit, the laundromat's aesthetic, and the talent's props.
