My father, Joe Barrett, was an extraordinary artist. Over nearly eight decades, he created thousands of paintings and drawings—work that has remained largely unseen by the public. Now, I’m working to change that.

I inherited his entire body of work, hundreds of pieces spanning various styles and subjects, and I’m raising funds to professionally photograph and catalog them for an art book. This book isn’t just about preserving his legacy; it’s about sharing a remarkable, undiscovered artist with the world.

Who Was Joe Barrett?

Joe’s life was as unconventional as his art.

He grew up during the Great Depression and lied about his age to join the Navy at 15 during WWII.

He studied under some of the greats and crossed paths with Hollywood legends.

He spent decades painting, with a relentless dedication to his craft.

Despite his immense talent, he never sought the spotlight—his work was personal, experimental, and deeply rooted in classical technique.
