Overview
What happens when an obsessive young actor moves in with a disgruntled former star who has fallen from grace? Initially star-struck Pete Morgan slowly realizes 'The great Bill Parker' is a slovenly alcoholic shadow of his former self. The youngster takes it upon himself to restore his idol to his former glory. But in the process Pete slowly begins to unravel in his obsessive fixation with Bill, and with the illusive mysterious method of the craft. Murder, mayhem and madness ensues...

'A CAMPAIGN TO DIE FOR...'

'The Method' is a biting satire about a culture obsessed with celebrity and individuals struggling with personal identity.

With the lack of role-models today people are desperately looking for someone to look up to but find their idol has but feet of clay.

Dark comedy is not generally a genre associated with the South African film industry so this film will be breaking new ground in local film-making but it is universal in it's themes of celebrity-worship.

THE GREAT KEN GAMPU

In making this film we pay tribute to the many unsung heroes of the South African film industry of old, like Ken Gampu.

Too many great local actors have died in poverty and obscurity exploited by greedy production companies and heartless producers. We want to honor their legacy and remember the contribution that they have made.

A portion of the funds will go towards the Theater Benevolent Fund supporting local struggling actors.

ROUGH FUND BREAKDOWN

The South African film industry is generally averse to taking risks, going for more commercially safe genres such as romantic and slapstick comedy. In making 'The Method', we will be breaking new ground and exposing a wider audience to our unique vision.

We are hoping to start shooting round April 2018 :)
