Introduction and My Project
My name is Missy McAnulty, I am a Scottish singer/songwriter and professionally trained actor based in London.
I have been singing, writing and gigging within a collective here for five years, after my acting and vocal training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts N.Y.C. I have performed at the O2 Academy Islington, Jazz Café Camden, Hootananny Brixton, Camden Barfly. The Garage and 100 Club to name a few.
The last E.P I collaborated and featured on was MTV accredited, a massive accomplishment! The aim is that my first solo project will mirror that same level of achievement.
The project is a music video for my first ever solo track named 'Soar', produced by London based producer Jayel.
The video ties in with the lyrics of the song. It captures the hard work/graft of an artistic individual, living in a land of creative opportunity and the emotional journey that can go with it.
In particular it will highlight issues such as living away from family, sacrificing traditional career paths and other personal aspects of life. You will follow the main character through a day of what that looks like, and see the obstacles to maintaining the focused and driven mind set of 'an artist with ,a vision.'
Being a creative can be difficult when juggling all aspects of life. We need to make time to do what we love, yet also enjoy our experiences with the people that matter most. I wanted to convey this through a music video.
Trust me, this concept will be brought to life when you see it through your own eyes.
The song will be submitted to multiple globally judged music awards such as BBC Music Introducing, and I cannot wait for you to hear it alongside the music video, to see the full project come to life.
I have a link to the tracks instrumental - a teaser so you can get excited about the video launch day. Its uploaded at the following link: https://soundcloud.com?melissa-mcanulty?tracks
Most artists hit some sort of 'barrier' when they have a creation that they want to make a reality. The most common is not having any funding, or being forced to work to too low a budget for a project to be shown at its full potential.
If your work is not showcased in the best possible way, or you are not getting your music heard, this can lead to a situation where you are stuck.
I've decided to take a leap by creating this Indiegogo campaign. In order to make my creation the BEST it can be Ill need to break down that barrier. With your help we can make it happen!
WHAT WE NEED AND WHAT YOU GET
My project will cost me £875 in order to reach its full potential. I will need money to pay those involved in full and for the equipment needed to make the video look sharp!
I have written the price breakdown below for you based on artist equity rates for an 8 hour video shoot.
Film Director at £25 an hour = £200
Camera/Cinematographer at £20 an hour = £160
Dancer at £20 an hour = £160
Actor at £20 an hour (2 hours required) = £40
Editing in post-production £20 an hour = £160
Travel at £15 x 3 (Editor will not need travel) = £45
Cast food and refreshments 3 people x £20 = £60
Props = £50
total of £875
If we EXCEED that target, every penny will be put towards a PR campaign.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Like any project, there are going to be challenges we may face, that prevent us from producing the best results. Below I have highlighted my potential obstacles, and whats in place to resolve them.
FUNDING - You may be thinking, what happens if I don't meet my funding target?
If I fall short of the target, the first priority will go towards ensuring the the filming takes place and we get all the footage we need.
This will mean prioritising payment of the artists involved first. The post production editing will have to wait until I can raise more money from back up fundraising plans I have in place.
WEATHER - When you work outside there are consequences you have to face. You may be located in a spot where its glorious sunshine, or hit with a spot of drizzle.
As a Scottish person living in London, I am more than used to occasions where the weather takes a turn for the worst!
We have multiple times we can all meet together throughout the day or week in order to get the footage filmed. In all likelihood its unlikely we will benefit from 8 hours of continuous sunshine and fully expect to break the filming up dependant on the weather.
Illness/Injury - In the lead up to the filming the process will ensure we get the actor, dancer and director working in harmony. Undoubtedly a late illness to one of the team would be a big loss, however we do have understudies in place.
There will be no acting lines to learn, I have written a detailed breakdown of the characters actions feelings/intentions, and our dancer Blake, is a professional dance coach.
.
THE IMPACT
The aim of the project is to act as a motivational and inspirational video for all of us 'artists with a vision', to feel that whatever we think may be difficult to achieve, can hopefully become reality if we keep that headstrong focus, determination and self belief.
