Welcome to our secret campaign, intrepid biohacker!
As you know, the MyoLink is the first open-source, wireless, wearable sensor that continuously measures your muscles, heart, and brain.
But... this isn’t our real funding campaign, just a call for dedicated and passionate beta testers.
This is how it's going to work: In about 6 months (or perhaps sooner), you will get a pre-production model of the Myolink sensor in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) flavor along with a six-month supply of patches. This MyoLink is yours to keep. You're getting a MyoLink before anyone else in the world, and this is essentially a preorder for you to get in early and pave the path of one of the first wireless, wearable open-source EMG / EKG / EEG body monitoring sensors. The main campaign will deliver MyoLinks in about 9 months. That means you will get yours at least three months before anyone else!
What is changing between the pictured prototype and the one you are getting?
1. We are modifying the current plastic enclosure to eliminate the electromechanical junction. The version you get will look more like a band-aid. Why? We want you to be able to use your MyoLink everywhere, all the time, without worrying about separation of the adhesive from the module.
2. We are switching from ANT to BLE as our wireless communication protocol. That’s so you don’t need a dongle to connect to your iPhone / Android smartphone.
There are several other changes we are considering, but those depend on meeting stretch goals in our main campaign, which we will launch in a couple weeks.
The main purpose of this campaign is to get our beta test group organized and funnel those most interested in this technology into our team of core beta testers / elite super-users.
And remember, whatever you do, don't tell anyone about this campaign! We don't want it to go viral; we want it to go anti-viral! There is an absolute cap of 100 pre-production MyoLinks for this beta group, and we would prefer the size to be about 50. We will launch our main campaign in a couple weeks. Stay tuned.
