Who are we and what are we about:
The Okita Project encompasses the ambitions of three college students; Nick, Joe, and Kevin, to help communities in the developing world get access to necessities of life. These include vaccinations from diseases, sustainable methods of producing energy, and, of course, clean drinking water. The disparity in global income and quality of life from the "first world" to the "third world" is alarming and not always obvious to those who do not stop to think about it. Thus, we aim to create some pause in your day to contemplate giving to our worthy cause.
Needs and gifts:
We need start up cash so we can begin this endeavor. The funding that we will receive will go allow us to file for with the IRS, the state of New Jersey, pay for any legal fees, and help us register and maintain a website. The remaining funds will go to larger fund raising projects and materials to begin our work. What we offer in return are some awesome mechandise to show your support, all of which have been produced ethically, without slave labor and in the United States.
Why:
Our leadership team includes majors from a wide range of humanity disciplines, such as Philosophy and Political Science, in conjunction with Business, Economics, and scientific fields such as Psychology and Physics. Through these avenues we have become aware of several issues plaguing the overall development of humanity throughout the world. Our goal is to bring a fresh take on problems, such as contamination in water supplies, and hopefully make strides toward solving them.
