Our Story:
The Bushwick Bookclub Seattle and the Seattle Jazz Composers Ensemble(SJCE) have joined forces to produce a big event featuring: The Bible! And we need you help in raising $3000 to help make it happen.
10 Songwriters have written 10 new songs based on 10 stories form the Bible's Old Testament. SJCE took these songs and arranged them for a 7-piece band and chamber choir. On March 28 and 29, at Seattle Town Hall, all this comes together to bring you an evening of song, comedy, and theater, re-imagining stories from one of the oldest, influential, and contraversial books we know.
This community project involves the work of over 30 artists and reflects a wide range of music and arts found here in Seattle. It is our most ambitious project yet. The goal is to provide audiences with a meaningful, high quality, multi-disciplinary experience and an opportunity for artists that normally don't work together to work together.
This fundraising drive is to raise money to pay for the venue rental fee and production costs. Covering these expenses ahead of time enables us to give more of the money generated by ticket sales to the artists who created the work.
Venue rental for 2 nights with staff: $2000
Production costs: $1000 (for things like: marketing, priniting, technical needs, and musician gaurantees).
Your support will put more money in the hands of these folk that are composing, arranging, performing, and producing this event. If we don't happen to raise the entire amount, anything we do raise will go towards these 2 costs. Anything we raise in excess of the goal will be shared by the artists.
In return for your generous donation we have some great thank you perks! Original music, artwork, t-shirts, unique and personalized performance experiences... Please have a look.
