"The Other Night..." A short Film.
Skuttlbut Studios has many funny features on the way, but this here is something we all are very motivated to make. The Other Night is our small, college level studio's first ever drama... and it sure is a doosey. Our script deals with heavy themes such as abuse, unhealthy relationships, and substance abuse. This "Why dunnit?" story that Josh, Katie and I have been working on for a couple months now, acts as a really powerful example of how abuse can damage lives in all facets. We need to make this story happen, and your support is the first step in the right direction.
How you can help.
Let's be real:
- Making a film on a college budget isn't ideal, and requires money that we don't always have.
- By funding our project, you're giving us an amazing opportunity to create a powerful story that can influence lives.
- Our Equipment, the people who operate it, and the locations we are shooting at are expensive, but necessary in order to portray this story in full capacity.
- This is an opportunity that many film students dream of, and your support allows us to take the necessary steps to not only create art, but art with purpose.
All contributors rot the campaign will be credited in the in the film
Contributors of $20 or MORE will be listed as EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS in the credits of the film.
The Impact
We hope that this film resonates with people in a way that makes them want to seek help if they are in similar situations, or provide aid to someone if they are aware they are on the receiving end of any kind of Abuse. The story will shake you to your core, and because of that it is a story that needs to be seen.
- You are not only helping young filmmakers, you're helping us inform communities of the potential long term affects of cyclical abuse.
FILMING SCHEDULE:
-
The schedule for this film is quite simplistic:
- There will be two shoots over the course of a 16 hour day.
- The first is 2:00pm-9:00pm on April 4th, to 12:00am-5:00am on April 5th
- Locations: Della Cucina in Hillsdale, 13 Henry Ave in Park Ridge, the street of Henry Ave in Park Ridge (we are working with the Park Ridge Police Department to designate time, parameters, safety measures, and traffic regulations for our shoot).
Risks & Challenges:
- As mentioned earlier, we are attempting to tell a powerful story that needs to be told correctly, and we can hire the crew that can make that happen if we reach our goal.
- We also are going to have to pay for permits to shoot on location.
- We've shot multiple scripts that are coming out over the course of this year, but this project will be our grand slam.
- We have all worked on other big budget short films and know how to conduct ourselves in a manner that will allow us to create the best product imagineable.
- With the proper financial backing, it will make our job of making this film not only possible, but easier on our financial futures.
- Financial backing will also allow us to pay for entry fees for Film Festivals in order to show our film on a greater scale and spread our message further.
