Synopsis
Ex-convict, Arthur, has just discovered the whereabouts of his partner, Joe, who left him during a robbery which had him imprisoned. He seeks his revenge by travelling north to find him, but must take with him his teenage daughter Lisa who was taken into care during Arthur’s absence. Prison hasn’t saved Arthur from his criminal life, but maybe his daughter will.

This campaign is important for us because it is our final project for the University of the Arts, and we need your help to begin this journey. It will be essential for our future careers as filmmakers.
Contributors will help us achieve our end goal of creating a piece of creative work that can be used to discuss sensitive topics. The core themes of our film are about the relationship between father and daughter, redemption and crime. We hope to create a suspenseful, entertaining and poignant film that leaves audiences questioning how they approach situations and how they perceive people with certain pasts.
We are making this film to raise awareness for several different charitable causes. One of which is children in care. Our supporting character in the film is a teenage girl who was taken in to care due to complications with her family life. Her father (our leading character) is an ex-convict, who has recently been released from prison. Our story is about the reforming of Arthur, and how, by the end of a long journey, they grow to love each other, and Lisa helps him to become a better person.
We want to promote the importance of this through our movie and we will be filming it in a very cinematic, unique style in order to represent the reformation of our characters in a beautiful way.
In the film our characters begin their journey in a chaotic southern city, very much in the heat of Arthur's damaged life. They travel north by car, and as they progress further and further into the natural landscape of Wales, the two begin to bond, connect, and rekindle their relationship. We want to represent the change of scenery to mirror their changes too. Life grows within them as life grows beautifully around them.
We hope to screen the film at various festivals globally. Previous films from our institute of study have won many awards, and have screened their films in festivals. Notable mentions are Welsh BAFTA, LA Cinefest, the BFI and Cannes Short Film Festival. We wish to do the same. Please help us turn this written text into a visualised story!
We will be filming in the beautiful landscapes of Snowdonia in North Wales, and therefore, our cast and crew will need to be transported and accommodated there. We will need to rent a car since our protagonist Arthur will be on a road-trip seeking revenge.
The dialogue between father and daughter will happen inside the car, so we will have to spend a good amount of money to make sure our actors are safe.
We will need your help raising at least £3500. However, the more we raise, the greater our creative freedom. The topics of our film will explore the fine line between hate and love within a unique anamorphic film look.
To show our appreciation of your contribution, we are giving away some gifts:

We have many hurdles to overcome in the creation of this film. We have managed to lock locations for filming in and around Snowdonia for the moving car scenes, however, we need to also lock locations for stationary movements in the film; such as the opening scene involving a lake front cottage. We have many viable options and are in talks with owners of potential places however, we need money to provide payment to them. We have gathered a certain amount, but we need as much as we can to ensure that no areas of the filmmaking process suffer as a result. We have been quite lucky managing to source out a low loader as well for shooting which we have confirmed at a considerably discounted price. Most of the hurdles we have overcome already, the biggest and last remaining is having enough money to accommodate our crew and feed them for a week, on top of funding the creative aspects of the project too.
