Overview
What's pink and shiny and super sweet? It makes people c r a z y for more, or leaves them questioning their sanity? Why, it's a pastry from Glomsburry Bake Shoppe, of course!  By having the director of the film, Juliette, work in a bakery for over five years, it's safe to say through all the baked goods she has tried and eaten, nothing that truly compares to the pastry in this film. Special thanks to Andrew Hallenberg, Kristen Harrison, Lily Anderson & Will Pochepan for the video & photos!

Synopsis:

The Pastry is a comedy about a young jingle writer, Claudia, who is hired to write a song for a new pastry at a well-known baking company, Glomsburry Bake Shoppe. But, when the pastry isn’t what Claudia expects a top-notch corporation to produce, she’ll have to consume all the ideas she can get to write the jingle.

Being a senior thesis film, our cast and crew consists of hardworking IC students to create a vision that began with a description on a page, and is now a visual story. From the start, we anticipated in creating a very specific and unique look/color palette through our locations, set design, costumes and lighting, and we have been so fortunate to be able to make it happen!

We also decided to build one of the rooms for our film in a creative space through our college. There, we were able to paint and hang framed photos on the walls to fully immerse our audience and the characters into this (somewhat) fictitious world.

Here's Where You Come In!

Our film is about a pastry, which unfortunately is too pink and sugary (and also made of clay) to be digested by cast and crew, so investing in edible food is a huge part of the process. All funds we receive will go to:

- Feeding the cast and crew delicious food!

- Purchasing costumes, and props to transform an ordinary conference room and into a Glomsburry-esque conference room/designing and building a room.

- Film festival entry fees, which can be quite expensive!

If you decide to donate, not only will we happy dance/cheer/be eternally grateful but your name will go in the credits and you get extreme bragging rights!
