☆UPDATE 2☆
Hey guys! So, there's not long to go now... It seems that if I don't reach £500, quite a large amount is taken off the total raised. Therefore, I'd really appreicate it if you could contribute and tell your friends about the campaign, who might be interested.
THANK YOU for all that you've done so far,
George

Hello Everyone!
I'm making my first short film this summer, and hopefully, you'll help fund it. So, here's a little bit about myself and the project:
- I'm George. I'm 16 years old and I live in London. I've just finished secondary school and am hoping to get a bit of film experience before I start college! I'm passionate about film (to say the least) and have been since I was a small child. It's my ambition to become a writer and director professionally, and I hope by making this short film, I can get a head start!
- My short film is based around the ideas and theme of celebrity culture and how those in a higher position can abuse their power, and will do anything to cover up any harm they have caused. The film also focuses on social groups and communties and how they can affect people both positively and negatively. This is why the short film I plan on making is so important to me. I'm a back fan of films that include some form of social commentary, and I hope this film will reflect that. It's not only a learning experience for me, but hopefully viewers will take something away from the film too.
What I need to make this film fantastic:
Here's what I need and why:
- I'm looking for an overall budget of £300 for the film. The page says there is a target of £500, but that's the minimum target Indiegogo sets for all projects. It's completely fine if I don't reach my target or the £500, but it would be amazing if it were surpassed.
- The funds raised will improve the asthetic of the film greatly, but also add great value to scenes which involve great detail and effects. Also, just to keep the cast and crew happy over the course of the filming period (they need to be fed, eh?).
- The perks (in my opinion) are really cool. The stuff like the badges, posters and props are all limited edition and for backers only. This is why I think the value of each perk is justified. Each reward based on the amount to give is unique to you. No-one else will have the same Skype call with the cast, or the same video message from me saying a big THANK YOU! Also, as for the £100 perk, hanging out on set is great. But, we'll also take you out for dinner if you wish. You lucky thing.
- Even if the target goal isn't reached, all the money will be put to good use to make the film even better than it's already planned to be! Even £1 is better than no money at all.
The Impact
What difference does it make if you contribute or not?:
- Well, I don't mean to put pressure on you or anything but this film will make a major difference in my life. Sounds cheesy I know, but hear me out. Due to a lack of work to show for my directing aspirations, I've practically got no confidence when it comes to wroking with others who have experience and examples of work they've done in relation to film. With funding, I'll be able to go out and make a fantastic film that I can proudly go out and say: "Here is an example of what I can do. Yeah, I know. It's good, right?".
- If you back the project, you won't only be helping me out a great deal, but also the cast! Each and every cast member is looking to work in the creative industry, whether it be in comedy, filmmaking, acting etc. By giving the film a little more "oomph" it allows for each cast member to look back on the film as a great example of work in their portfoilo of projects they have appeared in and worked on.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't contribute, it would be great if you could share the page:
I completely understand that many of whom that want to back the campaign, cannot. That's fine. Seriously. But, if you wish to still help out with the project, one way of doing so is spreading the word about the film and the campaign page. You can do this by:
- Tweeting about it. Sharing the link.
- Promoting the campaign on Facebook.
- Sharing the project on Tumblr.
- Mentioning the project in YouTube videos.
And of course you can choose to share the project in whatever way you like.
Thank you for checking out the campaign page, and I hope you can help out in whichever way you can.
- George
