What is Rhythm Of Flight?

"Rhythm Of Flight is a 6 months hang gliding series across America of short movies and live broadcasts along with a blog and documentary for a feature film that will immerse the audience into the sport and the lives of the incredible flying community."

Rhythm of flight was an idea from us both that snow-balled massively over the last year. It began as a simple flying trip through the states to rediscover some of the old-school hang-gliding sites of the 80’s and 90’s and has now grown into a unique full-fledged project!

The Mission

“Show the world what hang gliding is all about.”

The sport has had little publicity over the last few years our goal is to help change that and get the sport flourishing again with a new generation of pilots. New technologies such as action cams, YouTube and social media give us the perfect tools to show the world that flying has found a new rhythm!

Hang gliding is a difficult sport to capture on photo and film but we have a few tricks up our sleeve to bring you some of the most epic perspectives you have ever seen! We want to provide you a first hand experience of what its like to fly around in the sky with the birds .

Flying Community

Along our adventure we’ll be meeting, flying with and interviewing some of the best in the world including current world #1 Jonny Durand, multiple US Champion Zac Majors, the world distance record holder Dustin Martin, Freestyle aero expert Ryan Voight and aerobatics veteran John Heiney. We’ll also be heading to some secret flying sites with local flying legends and newbies of the sport.

Why the US?

The US has a hang gliding legacy that dates back further than pretty much anywhere in the world.  It also offers incredible diversity in terrain and flying conditions. Snow capped mountains, desert canyons, rolling green hills and coastal cliffs are but a few of the jaw dropping backdrops we will capture on camera. 

Environmentally Friendly              

As hang gliding is an eco friendly sport we are going to carry through the theme by driving a converted camper that runs on bio fuels (mainly used veggie oil) and solar panels powering all off our electronic equipment.

Where is your money going? 

The reason for this campaign is for funding of the logistics and support crew that will be filming and documenting our adventure with us.
