Summary
Hi, we're Mike and Graham. Mike is a blogger and YouTuber, and Graham helps to run a mail order business specialising in all kinds of weird and wonderful magical and new age goodies.
Every year we go away, experiencing pubs - we've done Hull, Leeds, countless little villages, but our favourite place is Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire. We're going for 3 nights in November, taking in a stop at Whitby while we're there. And we'd love for you to get involved!
We're putting the trip up for sponsoring, from a third of a pint, right up to headline sponsors. You can be a sponsor of the trip, getting your name the sponsor t-shirts that we'll be wearing, and you'll be featured on Mike's blog and video channel too!
It's just a bit of fun of course - but what's wrong with helping to create a bit of fun? :)
What We Need & What You Get
We're asking for £500 (in an ideal world) to pay for the trip, transport costs, and spending money while we're there. We're going in November when it's going to be cheaper, so we can keep costs down.
We have tons of perks for you, and the great thing is that you can get involved from just £1! Yes, you can sponsor a third of a pint of beer, and you'll get your name on the sponsor t-shirt just for that. Amazing, but true. By default what we'll have printed is your name will be from your Indiegogo account, but if possible we'll try to get in touch to ask if you have an alternative - but be aware that we'll be up against it time-wise to get the t-shirts printed so if we do email, expect to have to respond quickly if you want a custom name.
So, if you want to sponsor a swift half, a pint (for either Graham or Mike - choose your favourite!), a round, or even a bed for the night, you can make that happen. Check out the perks.
If we don't hit our target, that's fine, but every pound we do raise will go towards creating some great experiences.
Mike has done a successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign before, the Travelling Book Project, which enabled over twenty travelling journals to be sent around the world, visiting places such as the UK, Ohio, Las Vegas, Australia, and Germany.
We do also have some stretch goals - if we hit £1000 we'll look at sending beer mats to certain levels, and beyond that we'll look at unlocking more stretch goals!! If we get a silly amount of money we may well produce the sponsor t-shirt for some supporters also.
Risks & Challenges
Risks - well, in life, there are always risks. Probably the biggest risk is that for you to get your name (or logo, if you're going for a big perk) onto the sponsor t-shirt we need those names in as soon as possible. We'll be using whatever name you use to support the project (and we do reserve the right to exclude any names which are a bit rude, sorry for that) but we'll need logos or special requests in asap to make them happen. Worst comes to worst - you'll be missed off the t-shirts. This will be a last resort, of course.
If we don't get anywhere near the target, we might have to rethink the t-shirts - the cost of printing 2 t-shirts for us isn't huge but is still a chunk of cash, so if we can't do it we may go for a low-budget option, like having your names stapled to a normal t-shirt. No, I'm not looking forward to it either.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you think this is an awesome project but not for you, that's fine. But don't forget that you can use the Indiegogo share tools to share the project with friends, that would be lovely too :)
We have enabled "InDemand" so that donations can be given after the campaign ends. Any money which rolls in afterwards will go towards future trips :)
Other Stuff
We ought to say that being a sponsor doesn't mean that we recommend or endorse you or your organisation in any way (although we're very grateful to you for sponsoring us!!!)
