Here is the story of "The Silk Road revisited..."
This exciting new book, "The Silk Road Revisited", by Nick Rowan invites us to take an astonishing cultural journey throughout Europe, Central Asia and China along one of the world’s oldest trading routes. Take an exhilarating voyage from the comfort of your armchair and find out more about the history, culture and traditions of each country while marveling at the exquisite accompanying photography.
This is no ordinary book on history – it is a personal view of the Silk Road’s fascinating history that has made each country that once lined its route what it is today. Charting a course from West to East, the book deviates from the traditional East to West depiction of the Silk Road. The engaging text is complimented by captivating photography as the reader travels from charming and powerful Venice to the homeland of the Yellow Dragon, China, from snow-capped mountains of Kyrgyzstan to the vast steppes of Kazakhstan and from the fearless Turkic tribes to the noble Persian empires. Each chapter the reader also encounters the diverse peoples, delicious cuisine and delightful landscapes.
Traveling through the pages of the book, the reader seamlessly moves from the familiar world of Europe to the less familiar territories of Central Asia and the mystique of the East. The book captures attention with its elegant design, cultural charm and unfurls like an unsolved mystery. Venice, Turkey, Persia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and China - The Great Silk Road once united countries, empires and religions. Common goals and one soul, meant often melted away the differences in culture, language and the distance between them.
