One of the primary system, the sEMG, which stands for Surface Electromyogram, which assesses muscle functions by recording muscles activity from the surface above the muscle on the skin.

With a new seamless design, not only the design seamlessly blends in and doesn’t obstruct, the flexibility allows it to be worn on both the thigh and arm. And with the new algorithm added, we are able to track two KeenBrace device at the same time, for a complete muscle-mapping analysis.

"I started my KeenBrace Journey three years ago. At that time I was really fat and unhealthy, someday I realized that I should not stay that way. I tried many different ways to lose weight and get better shape, dieting, hiking, running, cycling. Instead of becoming good shape and healthy, I got a lots of injuries, I hurt my knees, and my spine, which took me a year to rehab. Then I started to listen to the doctors and trainers, they taught me the right way to do exercise and lose weight. 

With my engineering background, an idea came up to my mind,  I thought I can put their knowledge into some kind of product to help more people that hurt themselves with bad exercise form. That's the beginning of KeenBrace. But it was not easy, different people have different conditions, different problems, and different  tastes of sports. A lots of people only do aerobic exercise.

We spent a very long time to develop our sensors and algorithm, and tested it on different people.  We also developed a lots of different sports to our App, because we know the necessity of training comprehensively.

During the development process, KeenBrace also helps myself become better, stronger and healthier, and I realize fitness is a lifetime endeavor, there are no shortcuts, but a proper wearable can really help you to stay on the right track, and we believe KeenBrace definitely can help more people."

To put KeenBrace to the test, we use the Delsys sensors as the benchmark – considered the pioneer in the field. After completing a comparative chart in Matlab, we didn’t find much difference in the results! a great feat for Keenbrace. With a smaller and lighter chassis, for a seamless experience, and at a lower cost, KeenBrace manage to deliver a similar result.

In early 2016, KeenBrace team won the Intel award for outstanding entrepreneurial team in China. 

Risks and challenges

All members of the KeenBrace team has extensive experience in the medical, software, and hardware engineering fields. We are committed to providing the most accurate integrated sensor system for fitness enthusiasts. Conceptualising, prototyping, and launching related devices and software are things we love to do, and have dedicated ourselves to. 

We have worked closely with medical and fitness technology experts to improve the accuracy, stability, and effectiveness of Keenbrace and its app.

There are three main challenges that lie ahead for us. Keenbrace’s design include many fragile parts that make hardware manufacturing very sensitive and expensive. It also takes a long time to complete. In regard to the AI algorithm, we want to improve the processing capabilities. With all the information that Keenbrace translates, it is a natural challenge to ensure that that data is collected, analysed, stored, and utilised in an effortlessly efficient manner. Finally, we are still testing different materials to provide users a smooth, comfortable fit.

After more than a year of development, we are confident in Keenbrace’s capabilities. 
We have dedicated ourselves to improving the responsiveness, fluidity, and effectiveness of Keenbrace’s features.
