Dim Sum means to touch the heart
The Southern Wok food truck is the result of Chef Lemon’s love for Chinese food, specifically the food of Hong Kong, his Grandmother Irene’s place of birth. Our goal is to share classic Dim Sum staples and other Chinese dishes with the community and broaden the scope of Chinese food in the south. We deliver classic Chinese taste in familiar southern dishes and vice versa.
The Triad is a diverse area with people of all backgrounds. We aim to serve delicious food and give great service to the whole community. We’ll make ourselves accessible to all through fair pricing, free community meals, home cooking tutorials, “stuff the truck” food drives, food desert pilgrimages, and other events serving the community.
“Chef” Lemon and Megan met while Josh was attending Elon University School of Law in Greensboro and Megan was acquiring her degree from Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. Josh wooed her with dumplings at every opportunity and the two fell in love. We’re excited to share the love this food cultivated with the communities that nurtured us.
We need your help though...
The food truck is nearly done and we're hoping to be up and operating in the next 2 months! We're fundraising $2,500 to make sure that our opening is as seamless as possible. Contributions to the campaign will be used to cover garage bills, operational costs, and inspection fees. Backers of the campaign will have the opportunity to receive enticing rewards such as exclusive merchandise, meal vouchers, and a chance to enjoy a private dining experience with with Chef Lemon.
Join our Journey to Success - We believe in the power of unity and the incredible strength of our community. Your contribution, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to getting The Southern Wok up and running.
Together, we can continue the tradition of touching hearts and building community with dim sum. We'd love for you to be a part of our story!
Make a contribution that resonates with you – every bit counts!
Share our campaign on social media, with friends, and with family to help spread the word.
With your support, we are confident that we can get our food truck operating so that we can serve more people and share more amazing flavors with our community.
Thank you for being a part of our journey, and for standing by us in our time of
need.
We appreciate you!
Sincerely,
Josh & Megan Lemon
