Synopsis
Joshua doesn't exactly have a broken heart...he gave his heart away to his ex-girlfriend....literally.
And now, to top things off, she lost it. Practically, Joshua wants it back because he is trying to give his heart away to his current girlfriend, Marianne. But can you just give your heart away again without finding it? Or genuinely coming to terms with yourself?
This leads him on a surreal journey where he must deal with his own problems of insecurity and love.

About Me
My name is Jovon Outlaw and I'm currently a senior in the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory. I was born and raised in Bronx, New York and grew up listening to love songs around the house...mostly because my parents would always play them. As a kid, I would imagine a fantastical world in my head- inspired by the cartoons, music, stories, and the visuals around me. Now I have film as an outlet to express these images.
This film is important to me because it externalizes the way "love" has generally become (in my perspective) in this day and age- throwing yourself into a relationship but loosing who you are in the process. While that sounds pretty general (and maybe pessimistic...) it is actually a very personal film because it represents my own trials and tribulations with crushes, romance, and potential relationships.
As I continue pre-production on this film, I am continually applying the skills and professional work ethic I have gathered over these past 4 years spent crewing on a multitude of film projects ranging from student films to professional shoots. Everything I have learned and experienced through these opportunities will only augment the work I am putting towards "The Subtractive Colors".
Below is a compilation of some work that I've done so far, but only scratches the surface of what I hope to achieve in my senior film. Please help me to continue to make my imagination a reality!

A Matter of Give and Take...
All the funds raised here will go straight into the film. Necessary expenses that go into making a film include: Food, Transportation, Gas, Props, Set Dressing, Costume Design, Wardrobe, and Van Rental.
Our Expenses so far:
Camera Rental: $2,189
Grip & Elec. Rental: $682
Van Rental: $362
Props: $300
Travel/Food/Gas: $1,750
Miscellaneous: $500
"Do we have any more AA batteries?!"
But...you may have noticed that the above expenditures add up to over $3,000, which is our Indiegogo goal. So bearing that in mind, I've been working two jobs to try and bring in even more funds for the film. Yet, I can only do so much so I am turning to the online community for help.
